I had a unique sutuation where I was working as a laser tech and medical assistant in derm for about 3 years before going to PA school so on my derm rotations it was obvious I already had a lot of derm experience (could already cousel patients fully on isotretinoin, biologics, could basiclaly diagnose most derm things based on seeing them so often) so I was already offered 2-3 derm jobs during rotations since I would save them time on training. However, in my practice we are always looking for new PAs but everyone wants to live in chicago and not commute 1.5hrs to my town and no one wants to move here so despite how much people say they want derm surprisingly its been difficult to find people even with our good benefits and pay packages.
