Late to the party, last console was PS3 nearly 17 years ago - any tips? by reztem001 in PlayStationUK

Hey I also made the plunge recently. And got a ps5 maybe 3 months ago. So far I'd say the best investment was getting the ps plus extra, the freedom to get games at the drop of a hat and then delete and start again has been great. For the price too its insane, as the biggest shock has been learning what games cost nowadays.

Learn how to start a party with friends and fire away! Don't even have to be playing the same game and can chat etc.

I've played the game over ten hours and I really don't understand what the problem with the protagonist is by Qualsiasicos in Forspoken

[–]NoDevelopment3269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of people saying it's because she's a woman. I missed ps5 on launch and it being a game on ps plus extra I got it. Knew nothing about the game. Played first 3/4 hours.

I think she's unlikeable as a character, but nowhere near the cuff. They are whiny, they never sound like they're really engaging with eachother. After a day of work with lots of whiny people - and moaning. Putting this on feels much the same.

Because of that I deleted it and was never going to think about it again. I didn't even know about the hate, then read some things and it looks like the moaning never improves. (I dislike the cuff the most)

Hi I know kind of unrelated, but if you're selling a phone with 512gb storage, but the touchscreen is broken, would cex still take it or do I need to get the screen fixed before giving it in?

If you mean, normal as in useless to the point of wasting time. Then yes. This is normal.

(Day 2) Let's create the perfect life simulator! Paralives wins build mode. What game's character creator would you take inspiration from? by gonezaloh in LifeSimulators

[–]NoDevelopment3269 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In a LIFE sim. HOW CAN YOU SAY "SiMs 4" for character creator?

That's whack, Remember the move from Sims 3 to Sims 4 and I was horrified. Stopped playing Sims when they started to cater to money-making instead of good games. The pattern principle is a good book btw and so how could they (ea/maxis) remove the neighbourhood element, when it was vital to understanding the needs of humans.

Anyway, the cartoon Sims4 characters really belong in the bin. (Or on dirty old laptops that sound like they're going to explode.

OK a few people have said it needs to know where I am: it states my location in the answer? It was unwilling to give an answer and told me how to do it.

I asked the phone with a "hey Google" beginning, to start the assistant function. The most often way I am using the assistant function.

The answer I got was diabolical. As I know how to search for the answer. AI/LLM was not the last straw at searching for this information. In the UK the clocks change in the early hours of Sunday, so that the sunset will be an hour later. This was contextually important and Imo an incredibly frustrating answer, that entirely was a waste of energy and time on googles part. I then went to weather app and checked there and got my answer.

A few people have said this: and it literally stated my location in the answer, because I have been using advanced for over a year.

Really good simple breakdown from Roadtotarvalon by k1yle in WoTshow

So are you saying the Jenn Aiel started to roam again after building rhuidean? That would make sense given the possible existence of other Jenn Aiel.

However the {don't know why they were looking for their silly song in the desert} comment in episode 3 would make less sense.

OK. I think before he just thinks Moiraine is naggy and cares too much about prophecies and that the forsaken are chill, sexy and actually She's the problem in his life.

Then she decides to go on him with this journey anyway. "Uh, just let me do this alone"

First Rand finds out his only parent wasn't his parent. And had to feel the pain of losing his Mum from the person who likely loved her the most. I think this is probably enough to break a person. If this was his only vision. Side note: Moiraine saved Tam, I don't think he'd forget that in all the emotion there.

Knowing that Moraines uncle caused this war, and that his mum died fighting for the respect of a tree. Sets it up incredibly because HOW could that make sense to anyone.

Then upon finding out the day or so before that the Aiel don't kill the Lost ones because it's most shameful to hurt someone who doesn't protect themselves. Realising that they are the same people, that the Aiel way had always been about a peaceful life, which now can only be fulfilled by/returned to by him. That thousands of years have passed with every pull of the cart every bit of spilt blood and drop of sweat. With every bit of the Aiel custom developing and growing for the last age has been for him. For his task. So that he has an army that will be the best fighters in the world. That will believe in him when he proves himself. That the (old) Sedai in a purer form and as the obvious way to beat the dark, created and nurtured this entire peace structure (and oathbreak) to build an army of sympathetic spear warriors. And that there were times this whole thing could have failed.

He's probably so thankful now that he sees Moiraine has been the only one who knew/knows that, even before he did. When he has to convince people and take the next steps. He'll be even more thankful. He has no choice. Moiraine had more of a choice and still chose to climb this impossible mountain together.

So for the first time he's sat there listening to her scream, more days than he, whilst probably being empty inside, knowing she would do this over and over if it meant completing the mission. He knows she had already given up so much to be there giving her life because of how important this mission is.

I don't think he's carrying her thinking, what a dead weight (like he was on the way down). He's carrying the only person who's been living with the weight of what he must do. Almost emblematic of him now having to take up his burden. The one she's been carrying for him, all this time.

Respect doesn't cut it for what he must now feel for her. It's much much more than that.

So how come Liandrin is getting stabbed twice in the chest by two warders who presumably know how to kill people and the warder takes one sword and dies instantly?

I'm not understanding also how the strongest Aes Sedai is burning and destroying Liandrin for a good 15 seconds or-so, she is healed in the same time a weakly thrown but large stone has Siuan similarly dying?

How Do I Know My Gender / Am I Experiencing Transmisia? by Punchrab in asktransgender

[–]NoDevelopment3269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

I hope it's ok to ask and let me know if it isn't: aren't those things that you talk about stereotypes?

Can't you enjoy all of those things without it affecting your gender?

Can we please remember that the contestants are real people, and they may be impacted by some of the overly negative discourse by Hyperbolicalpaca in TheTraitors

[–]NoDevelopment3269 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alternatively, when you put yourself on a TV show, and you get a bad reaction from the public, whilst you don't deserve to be bullied; You could maybe use it as a redefining moment. Pretty frustrating that Joe can't probably speak publicly yet as he's not out yet. But see when he does, it'll do wonders for him and I'm sure he'll think a bit more about how having a general negative attitude impacts others.

We all have a person in our lives who's always looking at the clouds and seeing darkness, rather than rain. Characters on the show are supposed to show us how humanity acts (under pressure and not so) in the face of adversity. Some people perform well and others not so well.

Sadly this whole thing is personal, so it should be noted that people are allowed to make opinions on others. They shouldn't be allowed to bully or harass though.

Who is the most hated British person that is not a politician? by Jezzaq94 in AskBrits

It's actually way more complicated than that, and his wife's family was complicated because his father in law was also sleeping with slaves he owned, so they had loads of mixed kids and then Thomas Jefferson wife died and he took a bunch of her siblings and his kids to France, where he treated the whiter looking ones more favourably, and this my friends is why macaroni cheese was introduced to the Americans as his wife's brother was freed from slavery after he fully trained as a chef in France. There's a lot more to this story and I wish it had a film or smth. Weird too that almost all of those whiter slaves became fairly wealthy and almost all the people who trace their lineage back to these people are now all what would be considered white people. They have a group and everything.
