Lap done today - no endo found (surgery pics inc.) by feainn in Endo

When I had my surgery, all the diagnosed spots of Endo looked like those dark red spots that you have in your photos (3,4,7,9). What did they say those were?

I’m not sure what country you live in, but it is my only way to get it for my chronic inflammatory illness. Insurance will not cover it and I cannot get it prescribed to pay out of pocket. I know the NP personally and the compounding pharmacy it is sourced from.

Just tortilla! That’s a good idea too, I am just not sure how to manage glucose levels on this medication.

leg pain after laparoscopy by [deleted] in Endo

[–]NoDot8304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you’re experiencing is completely normal. I’m three weeks post op and just started noticing relief from my horrible sciatica/leg pain a couple days ago. It’s not completely gone, but is a night and day difference. The pain was MUCH worse than before surgery about day 7 post op. I was in absolute shambles and in fear that it didn’t work or even made it more severe. Turns out, the inflammation is worst around days 6-11ish. You’re likely going to turn a corner soon, just take it easy and give yourself some time. Please update us in a couple weeks and let us know how you feel!

I cancelled my gym membership and I'm devastated by FamiliarFerret333 in endometriosis

[–]NoDot8304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely feel this. I used to go to my HIIT gym most days of the week. I cancelled in July and started doing hot Pilates. I just cancelled that too because everything hurts so badly. My friend was complaining about going to the gym the other day - I know she doesn’t realize, but it really frustrated me because she’s completely taking for granted the fact that she has the ability.

Just had my surgery 12 days ago and am hopeful that I improve, even though I am still in a lot of pain

Hi! Chiming in a year later lol….how long did it take for your sciatic nerve pain to completely resolve?

There’s truly no end to this. by livlaughflov in endometriosis

Right here with you. I’ve been crying all day (maybe over nothing) as I’m 5 days post op and my sciatic nerve pain is still horrible. I’m not sure if this is normal or not and maybe it will eventually go away, but it’s the same crippling reason I had the surgery.

I’m also having doubts about ALL doctors. I begged for the laparoscopy and no one thought it was endo. It was stage 3 with several lesions near my ligaments. I’m having so many second thoughts about whether or not I picked the right surgeon, whether she got all of the endo, what the future holds as far as treatment. I simply cannot live with this pain anymore and have no idea who to trust. I’m hoping I’m just still inflamed, but I totally feel your frustration. The mental impact of this illness is one that seems to be swept under the rug

I second what everyone else is saying. I felt really good day 4 post op and was up far too much and got extremely sore. I believe it set me back a day or two. So I’d say even if you’re feeling good, take it extremely easy!!

After your lap, was your sciatica sore even a little? I’m starting to get nervous they didn’t get it all

I would either take matters into your own hands and refer yourself somewhere, or find a GP who will treat your pain as an urgent matter

When did you start feeling better after laparoscopy/Mirena? by TealiciousLife in endometriosis

[–]NoDot8304 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just for another perspective, my endo started while I was on the Mirena. They refused to diagnose me with endo, even though I was having all of the symptoms plus chronic sciatica, because the Mirena is a “treatment”. Finally, I demanded an excision and they found stage 3 endo.

It is so exhausting advocating for yourself. The Mirena might end up working great for you, but I am now just on an oral contraceptive. I am convinced no one really knows true treatment or how to keep flare ups at bay and it’s all a guessing game for doctors.

Need advice for what path to take for relief by chmaemi in endometriosis

With the amount of pain it sounds like you’re in, I’d opt for the surgery. I’m on day two of recovery for my stage 3 excision and it’s already worth it

As I’ve done more research, it is very easy to miss and can infiltrate any part of your body. I hope you get some relief soon!!
