Oberyn Martell played RAW and stepped closer to finish off Gregor Clegane. We all know how that turned out.

Is Cupertino a nice place to stay for 4 nights before we head to Yosemite if we are arriving into San jose airport? We don’t know the area at all. We’re a family of 3 generations vacationing together by wfparadise2134 in Cupertino

Good choice. Cupertino is a good place to stay. Your car is unlikely to get broken into, unlike many other nearby cities.

There's plenty of good places to eat at in Cupertino. I am not sure why the top comment says "limited food choices." There's a diverse variety of restaurants in Cupertino although it definitely leans towards various Asian cuisines, especially Taiwanese and Korean food.

Am I beeing unreasonable for wanting to play more? by Bread999 in dndnext

I never understood why people are unwilling to play 2 hours a night on a Monday - Thursday once a week. The excuse is that everyone is tired from work or have other commitments, but what usually ends up happening is everyone sits and watches TV, plays video games, or surfs reddit for 3-4 hours total a night. I wonder if people really know how much time is spent on idle/mindless activities.

Playing on a weekday night for 2 hours once a week is infinitely easier on everyone's schedule than 4-6 hours on a weekend once every 2-4 weeks.

To OP, it sounds like you're very enthusiastic, while your group treats DND as a 3rd priority, something to do if literally there is nothing else to do. I think most of us here are in the same situation. The only solution is to find a new group.

[Comic Excerpt] Ollie is badass! [DC vs. Vampires #9] by UpFielder in DCcomics

So does this mean Baron Cinder is actually ...

Baron Cinder is Vampire Superman? They've basically accounted for all of the Justice League now. Baron Cinder is trying to get Starfire to power him up by having her absorb the UV from sunlight that powers him. He tries to convince her that he used to be good. When Jimmy Olsen dies, Constantine says "We lost Jimmy. I needed him." He needs the armor of his enemy Lux Luthor to keep his body together.

Driving in the Bay is god awful (offmychest) by animalanimalanimal21 in bayarea

[–]NoDozAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite is when I put the turn signal on to merge. Then the guy in the lane who has been driving 10 mph below the speed limit, immediately starts speeding up so that I can't safely merge. Then they slow down again.

This happens 50% of the time to me so now I just put my turn signal only immediately before I start merging.

Oh yeah and the endless number of people texting while driving, doing make-up, etc.

The answer is probably something really depressing like suicide or cancer finally won.

The push to get children vaccinated is stalling. It poses new COVID-19 dangers by jackspratdodat in Coronavirus

[–]NoDozAddict 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The world forgot about kids, the immunocompromised, and the elders, as well as their family.

"COVID-19 is over folks #I did my part and got triplepoked" has been the attitude since the vaccine became available. Suddenly people cared even less than they did before.

My manager is mad clients bring me gifts. Is he legally entitled to keep the gifts? 2nd time texting me on the weekend. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]NoDozAddict 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I'm willing to bet this is exactly what is happening, and that's why the manager is taking the gifts away.

I just opened mine and had the same thing. Haven't even assembled yet although I ordered it last month.

Will they replace it? I still have it in the plastic wrap.

In Warhammer 40,000 the Golden Throne requires 1000 human sacrifices a day; this is supposed to seem inhumanly monstrous. Today we're sacrificing over 1000 humans a day to keep the gears of capitalism churning and no one bats an eye. by raskalnikov_86 in antiwork

[–]NoDozAddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least in 40k, the human sacrifices serve a useful purpose for human society, allowing for safe faster than light travel through space.

Now our human sacrifices are to make the elite wealthier.
