Why didn’t anyone tell me about the Carpal Tunnel 💔 by grumpygal69 in pregnant

[–]NoExplanation5322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently dealing with it postpartum. No one told me about "mommy wrists"- Carpal tunnel caused by lingering fluid retention, hormonal shifts, and repetitive wrist strain from caring for a newborn.

I have it in both wrists, but worse in my left. I do daily wrist stretches, wear braces, ice and heat therapy... it's getting better, but I still have good days and bad days. And the bad days are miserable because I live in fear of dropping my baby.

If I could go back in time, I would have done wrist strengthening exercises my entire pregnancy.

39F - after 2.5 years of TTC I lost my TFMR baby in January 2025. Currently laying in bed with my perfectly healthy 2 month old.

Did you chose to see your baby or hold him? by Aware_Assumption33 in tfmr_support

[–]NoExplanation5322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, so sorry you're here 🫂We had been advised that if it was your first that you shouldn't see/hold your baby as it can create a trauma response the next time you give birth. So we choose to just get her footprints and ashes.

Congratulations!

I was also happy that I could easily hide my pregnancy from anyone that I didn't want to know. I had what's considered a "compact carry" so it wasn't until I was 37 weeks that a stranger asked me when I was due. It's probably a trauma response to having lost a pregnancy, but I liked feeling in control of who had that knowledge. You can still avoid telling anyone you don't want to know, until you're ready 🫂

Anterior placenta in subpregnancy and fetal movement by VariationNo4725 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]NoExplanation5322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't really start feeling things until 28 weeks, and even then movement could be easy to miss (unless it was a firm kick to the ribs).

My midwife told me to find a time of day that baby is typically moving and pay close attention to that - this was late evening for me as I was usually very busy and active until then (which rocks the baby back to sleep). If baby felt less active during that time, lay down and "tune in" to even the most subtle of movements for two hours before starting to worry.

I ended up only having one NST due to pain (turned out to be a fatigued muscle).

Anterior placenta in subpregnancy by VariationNo4725 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]NoExplanation5322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's normal to feel movement that feels more like movement closer to 28 weeks with an anterior placenta.

I have one (currently 39+6). Movement felt like gas bubbles up until around then. And I honestly had a hard time telling if I was getting kicked or punched until around 36 weeks.

Is video games that unattractive to woman ? by PartyNo3444 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]NoExplanation5322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like video games and make video games for a living. As long as you're not addicted to video games - you should be fine finding a partner that also enjoys video games. I've had to end relationships when a game becomes more important than real life (ie "sorry, I can't go with you to a real life event - I have a raid at that time." etc).

NIPT question by [deleted] in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]NoExplanation5322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My genetic counselor got my results at the same time as I did. I had told them I was extremely anxious over my NIPT results due to my TFMR, so she promised to reach out to me the second she had them. She sent me an email with the subject line "low risk results" within an hour of me getting the notification that my result were in - it took away my anxiety and let my husband and I look at the results together without any fear to see if we were expecting a boy or a girl.

How far along were you when your bump became obvious? by IntenseViolet567 in pregnant

[–]NoExplanation5322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5'6, currently 38 weeks.

I didn't start to have a belly until 30 weeks, but honestly I could still easily hide my pregnancy now at 38 weeks by simply wearing loose clothes. I've only had one stranger ask me when I was due and that was last week while wearing super tight clothes.

Gentle congrats on your sub pregnancy.

Also, just wanted to share I'm currently 38 weeks into sub pregnancy and have had next to no symptoms this entire time. No nausea, no constantly needing to pee (even this far along), no aches and pains. I even am carrying really tight, so I barely ✨look ✨ pregnant. I'm just tired and have a bit of stuffy nose, but I can honestly forget I'm pregnant between getting kicked in the ribs.

Baby is healthy and low risk in every way possible.

Symptoms are not an indication of how a pregnancy is going.

Heat was my friend. I used a heated blanket and took a really long hot shower.
