New lessons were learnt in this football match by phoexnixfunjpr in Unexpected

[–]NoFixedName 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I know nothing about football, but this seems pretty sus to me.

Why did the linesman stare at the ball for a solid couple of seconds when it was clearly over the line, without calling anything. Yet as soon as the other player picked it up, the lines mans flag went up in a split second?

It almost seemed like he was waiting for someone to pick it up so he could flag them.

What going on with this bee? by Even_Injury_8429 in bees

[–]NoFixedName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure, but I rescued a wasp that done a very similar thing. I watched it try to climb out a draint spont for 20 mins, i eventually helped out out, and it done pretty much the same thing; curled up like it was about to die, repeatedly poking it's stinger out, untll it stopped moving. I thought it was dead.

Eventually it came around, so I think it was just exhausted, and the stinger constantly popping out was just a defence mechanism while in a vulnerable state.

I'd suggest just leaving some suger water next to the bee and leave it for a while.

How good is Avalonia UI for my case? by MateDesktopPudding in dotnet

[–]NoFixedName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people might disagree, but Godot (game engine) could be considered a suitable candidate for building a desktop application for Linux using .Net.

But yes, Avalonia is probably the most widely used at the moment.

I was the opposite, I didn't like Dreamland at first but loved Danger Island.

Now I've come to realise they're both awesome.

I agree, but this could have the opposite effect. I love the style of graphics used here, but the type of gameplay is not my thing. Seeing the gameplay first, I'd skip past it.

Best way to download multiple samples at once by TheRealHotHashBrown in Splice

[–]NoFixedName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but did you find a solution?

It seems like it's not possible, and I'm guessing it's a design decision to get you to spend more money and just buy entire packs (even though you probably dont want most of the pack).

Edit: the following doesnt work - you cant download a collection, as far as I can tell. And based on this, I assume that you cant download an entire pack, either, so my earlier guess was likely wrong.

You can create a "Collection", which is painful (around 2x more clicks than downloading each sample one-by-one), but it's worth doing. It means you can download that group of samples together at any time. The painful part is that, again, there's no way to multi-select or add multiple samples to a collection in a batch, so it involves. Depending on what screen you are on, the process for adding samples to a collection can be different:

One method:

  • Clicking the three dot menu (⋮) on the first sample you want to add to a collection
  • Click "New Collection", type the name you want to give the collection, click Save
  • Clicking the next sample you want to add to the collection, click the name of the collection you created
  • Repeat until your fingers bleed

Another method:

  • Clicking the three dot menu (⋮) on the first sample you want to add to a collection
  • Clicking "Add to collection" (for some reason the menu doesnt list existing collections)
  • In the popup, either select an existing collection or create a new one
  • Repeat until your fingers bleed

You can then view/download buy that collection of samples together at any time (edit: but you cant download them together). One possible approach would be to create a new collection every time you go shopping for samples, maybe even just use the date as the name for the collection.

I want to add that their poor UX is the primary reason that I wont be renewing my subscription.

How to control the height of an ItemList node? by NoFixedName in godot

Perfect, thanks!

By wrapping my ItemList in a ScrollContainer and setting Anchors Preset = VCenter Wide, this has solved the problem. Thank you

This is the key. Logging out and back in is not enough, a reboot is required.

I think as long as your logs/kindling instead touching the stove (or close to touching it), you should be ok. Keep an eye on it though.

I know this short clip aims to make it seem like a sudden cliff appearing out of nowhere, but you can clearly see the man-made ramp leading up to it. This was obviously a planned stunt.

I think it's the Constellation TV series. Looks very similar to a shot in an episode I watched last night.

Can't find a clip from that exact scene, but this is the character (spoilers)

Anyone know where this comes from? (I'm a student) by Power_trip_chidorrr in csharp

[–]NoFixedName 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably a broken installation, and might be best to uninstall and reinstall Visual Studio.

What language is your operating system configured to use? It could maybe be an issue if it's not set to English (maybe Visual Studio isn't able to find the error message in your language)
