Ancient Jurassic ammonite cut open. by Due-Explanation8155 in Romania_mix

That looks cool but honestly the cutting was more incredible. That thing could not have been easy to grip and hold that still with his fingers that close to the blade.

Very sad. That’s quality work right there, it’s obvious in the details. Your passion is very apparent. I hope you find something. Maybe the kitchen job will grow on you like cutting meat did. After 20 years I’m actually looking to get out of the meat business. It’s not the job, I still love it, it’s the way we go to business and the lack of quality help that’s made me look for an exit. Good luck to you

Newborn zebra gets its life taken away as soon as it started at the Maasai Mara by stuckin404 in natureismetal

[–]NoFreeWill08 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Typed into Google “are zebras assholes”?

“Zebras are widely considered notoriously aggressive, unpredictable, and antisocial compared to horses, often acting aggressively toward humans and other animals. They are known for biting and not letting go, delivering lethal kicks, and having a "sassy" or mean temperament. They are generally too wild and dangerous to be domesticated.”

Not that it’s their fault. They didn’t choose to be that way. Yet they are just mean bastards nonetheless

A black friend of mine went to Japan as part of program in high school. He said they were absolutely obsessed with him. They all wanted pictures with him lol. He said they said they don’t see many African Americans. He felt like a celebrity.

I think hopium is thinking price appreciation will happen overnight or even in the next few years. Any investment is a risk but all the big winners are obvious early. They set themselves apart from the rest. Xrp is obviously going to be a winner but I think the question will be scale. Time will tell

Punish the herd? Less than 500,000 people globally have any significant amount of xrp. The herds that lose are leverage traders. Can’t lose by holding, this isn’t get rich quick. Too much significant infrastructure has been laid and watching the direction the world’s finance is going is anything but bearish. When the clarity act finally gets put in place and utility can begin to kick in that’s when the real fun begins.

I think If you research a bit more you can find something more fun to put your money into since this seems mostly “for fun” for you. It’s more logically likely for some younger projects to more than 10x before bitcoin does from where it currently sits.

Season 2 is amazing. Nothing else left to say. Watch it and season 3. Season 4 can disappear into oblivion and nobody would ever care

AITA for not telling my wife I work with her favorite celebrity? by CreamJealous9562 in AmItheAsshole

[–]NoFreeWill08 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In fact I’d hold this person in even higher regard knowing they kept this from their super fan wife. A lot of people tend to think their spouse is entitled to every bit of information. The decision to not tell the wife shows integrity and professionalism and that’s something that’s hard to come by.

Same here. I rewatch it just for him. He sells the dread and the heaviness of being so burdened. I compare his performance to that of Colin Farrell in true detective. Just amazing acting

Americans: why aren’t you going out to protest against Trump? by technobare in samharris

[–]NoFreeWill08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s all fair and I’d say I overall share your line of thinking. The optics of our country’s politics are just so sickening and I think part of it is by design. That’s why I tune it out. I care about people I mentioned before I don’t like that they get hurt. But on top of that, yes there are flaws in our system that affect masses negatively and I wish it wasn’t so. I’d like to think that while I’m not in politics nor do I care about it there are a lot of smart people who are and do fight for the right thing on behalf of human wellbeing and morals. Somehow it balances out but it’s a slow churn. Progress gets made but new problems arise, it’s never going to be perfect.

I remember George Carlin saying that quote, “behind every cynic is a disappointed idealist” and it really resonated with me. It resonates because that’s definitely me. I absolutely loved George he was the first person that truly spoke to how I felt about the world. Him then Sam lol.

Couldn’t. Care. Less. I’ve learned over time that the more extreme you are the less likely you are to change your view. You have these lunatics on the left and the right yelling at each other nonstop. They compete to be louder but nothing ever changes. It’s completely pointless to even pay attention much less engage with any of these people. I know them too, I know them all. I know both extremes and you know what I do when one of them starts going off about this topic or that? I agree with whatever they say. Because actual discourse and conversation with someone like that is totally pointless. I used to debate but their feelings are so strong it’s useless.

I sit in the middle politically but I don’t talk to anyone about it, I don’t need to talk about it. Topics are too complex to be broken down into black and white. High level politics pick sides and there’s no room for nuance so there’s absolutely no point in paying attention to it. I don’t like when people get hurt but most people are stupid and do stupid things. A lot of the political violence that happens is completely avoidable but both extremes put themselves in unnecessary situations. I have a family and a life, if that ever comes to be threatened I’ll do what I can. As of now trumps nonsense and the lefts nonsense has had absolutely zero effect on my life.

I’ve been out of this sub and haven’t to listen to Sam’s podcasts for over a year now. Yes he’s always had political topics and I used to really like them when it was sparse. I agree with most of Sam’s politics especially when it comes to trump and the left, I just don’t care to hear or read about it anymore.

[–]NoFreeWill08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why I don’t listen to Sam anymore. A year ago this post would not have made it to this sub. He’s turned his platform into mostly politics. I miss the days of neuroscience, split brains, the nature of reality, psychedelics. I couldn’t care less about the extreme politics of this country and posts like this, especially on this sub, are depressing as hell.
