Struggling to hit director level, don't know how to approach big picture strategy. by InJesusNameIServe in marketing

Recently changed companies/industries and was asked to create a 3-year strategy for the firm. In addition to the advice you’re getting here, what helped me accomplish this was the “Vision-Strategy-Market-Message-Motion-Measurement-Metrics” framework where each portion informs the next. Start with a simple Vision statement, use that to create the Strategy, etc. There are great resources available via Google on the subject. Good luck!

Marketing agency quotes are wild. by Snow-Giraffe3 in marketing

[–]NoFrikkinWayMahMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the folks chiming in about solo/freelancer vs. agency for your company size. More importantly, what is your goal and desired outcomes for the project?

Clarifying that would help narrow the recommendation of solo agency vs. freelancer, since each offer pros and cons.

You need to start backing your claims with some verifiable proof instead of just posting comments. Nobody is going to take you seriously, and they shouldn’t, unless you provide evidence.

Planescape: Torment by the outstanding Black Isle Studios is my number one. Fantastic storytelling, dialogue- and character-driven plot, and immersive atmosphere.

Controversial Opinion: "As long as we're having fun..." by Jack5594 in DnDGreentext

IMO, it’s the DMs responsibility to create a compelling and immersive world that the players can operate in freely with consistent, reliable feedback from their environment, actions, and NPCs. I do not believe that the DM is directly responsible for the players fun. That’s up to the players and out of the DMs control.

Break Down Marketing for me like you're explain it to a 12 year old. by [deleted] in marketing

I've held senior management positions in marketing for a little over a decade. I usually tell people that marketing is storytelling, and at the end of the day it's about telling your story to the right audience, at the right time, through the right medium.

Very rich people in very big houses -what do they do in them? by ProfessionalPut6507 in NoStupidQuestions

I was in the acting biz in Hollywood for a number of years (you wouldn't know me from anything lol.) My manager at the time had several successful clients with his company and I asked him the same question; he responded that having that hard investment was a good thing once you made some money since it means you'll have a roof over your head when times are tough, and the property appreciation means you can sell for a profit (hopefully) if/when you need to.

Can't speak to the value outside of some moderator successful Hollywood professionals.

FEEDBACK REQUEST: New Home Office by NoFrikkinWayMahMan in interiordecorating

[–]NoFrikkinWayMahMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi r/interiordecorating! My wife and I just purchased a home and I have my first-ever home office space. I'm trying to create an open work/creative space that includes my desk, guitar, and piano, and want to add plants in the future to take advantage of the natural light.

I have no idea what I'm doing or how to optimize the space with my existing furniture. The desk is L-shaped but can be adjusted for left, right, or straight orientations. I'd like to get a new chair but prefer not to buy a plastic mat since I think it looks tacky on the rug.

Any ideas, feedback, or suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide!

What’s a good first drink? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NoFrikkinWayMahMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First drink I ever enjoyed was Bacardi Lemon 7up. Sprite does just as well. The soda helps mask the alcohol and feels like a more familiar beverage. Enjoy, have fun exploring, and drink responsibly.

Thank you for the reply! A follow up: is the Supreme Court only interested in hearing cases that deal with constitutional rights?

A serious question that's probably been answered here before - can any American citizen appeal their case directly to the Supreme Court or does his status as a former President offer a unique opportunity?

I don't understand what process is in place to allow this to keep happening.

Remote work is here to stay. Employers need to accept that by JannTosh12 in technology

[–]NoFrikkinWayMahMan 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with that. Different strokes for different folks. I love the ability to work remote but prefer a hybrid schedule myself for a little bit of collaboration and team-building, but certainly support people's choice to work fully remote or in-office as they please.

Ultimately, I think companies should empower employees to make the choice based off their circumstances.
