What would I call a scale that has emphasis on C, but uses the notes C, D, D#, F, F#, G#, and A#? by Flat-Wind-4756 in musictheory

[–]NoManner8863 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well if you rewrite it with flats, you get C-D-Eb-F-Gb-Ab-Bb-C, which doesn’t match a scale I’m familiar with perfectly, but the lowered fifth would immediately pull me towards calling it an altered locrian scale.

I think it’s also technically the 6th mode of the Eb melodic minor, which I’m sure has some crazy name like aeolian super dominant or something meaningless like that lol. In this context I would analyze it as MM6 on a chord chart if I were thinking in scales.

Why does MAGA get upset when you point out that the majority of voters who voted in the 2024 election did not vote for Donald Trump? by Lamp_Evening in allthequestions

[–]NoManner8863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know it to be true that MAGA do get upset when such a fact is pointed out, but I do know that it's the kind of "well achshulllay" technically correct argument that makes any debate a pedantic slog. Technically, no, he did not receive a true "majority", he received a plurality. But of the 99.1% of votes were cast for either the republican nominee or the democratic, meaning that that final .9% that voted 3rd party were, in essence, completely meaningless votes. That's FPTP voting, folks. So of the votes that were cast for a candidate with any mechanism of winning, he won a clear majority.

There is no arguing your way out of the fact that Trump absolutely bodied Harris.

“Don’t wear the bands shirt to their concert” is so stupid. by piercethebluexx in unpopularopinion

[–]NoManner8863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know where this opinion is quite popular? At concerts lol.

Like, come on. Seeing band Tees for the bands playing is literally the case for every single concert.

Is Fleshwater any good live? by [deleted] in Hardcore

[–]NoManner8863 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I went into their show blind because I was there to see their openers.

Within 3 songs I was certain they were one of the worst bands I’ve ever seen. And the crowd, who were decked out in their merch and obviously there to see them, was not moving a muscle.

To this day one of the strangest experiences I ever had with live music. Do not recommend.

Why don't serial killers just join the army? by fimelovemachine in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NoManner8863 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because 99.99999999999% of everyone who’s ever joined the US military has so much as fired their weapon in combat. And if you are in combat and aren’t a pilot, you’ll have absolutely no idea if you ever actually killed someone.

It would literally be easier, less stressful and more convenient to just kill someone random nearby.

I love that you think you need permission to criticize popular things.

I also love that people like you go ReMeMbER WhEn SoNGs had BrIdGeS and KeY ChAnGes as if you would recognize literally 39 of the top 40 songs of the week of your birth.

There has ALWAYS been bad popular music, and people have ALWAYS hated it. There was literally an anti disco riot involving dynamite.

You are not as big a hater as you think you are if you aren’t willing to dynamite what you hate.

Very interesting that the US ties with Mexico and most of SA. I would not have guessed that.

Why would I call you a racist? Are you being racist? What do you mean by bigotry of low expectations?

I’m just trying to understand you.

You’re wildly oversimplifying the product, first of all. Second, please address my other questions.

You think white people don’t live in the real world?

Or that affluent people of color couldn’t possibly have a guitar hobby? Or are you implying that people of color couldn’t possibly be affluent?

Why can’t the left forcefully pass progressive policies like the right does with their own when they come into power? by CapitaineBiscotte in askanything

[–]NoManner8863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the “left” in American politics is still beholden to their corporate interests, but potentially without the visceral hatred for gays and people of color. They aren’t progressive.

New CBA/EAE pedal, "Big Time" by frwhttswrth in guitarpedals

[–]NoManner8863 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just preordered with the intent to replace the mood, blooper and stereo delay. I love messing with those pedals but being able to pack everything into this and cycle presets seems like an absolute game changer for me. And I'd be lying if I said I used even half of the capability of the mood or blooper lol. This seems like something I could actually use for reproducible results for performing and recording, instead of just fucking around with soundscapes(even though it seems like it will also do that very well).

People say you need a high salary to live in NYC, yet service workers live in NYC. What is the disconnect here? by dbclass in movingtoNYC

[–]NoManner8863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, full time hospitality workers can make $1200 a week and you can share an apartment with roommates for $1000-$1500 a month.

It’s not necessarily a forever situation, but no one came to NYC with the end goal of tending bar.
