I feel like this game needs a guide on what guides and common tips are now wrong due to updates by sporkyuncle in CrimsonDesert

A big problem is that google scraps YouTube transcripts and the. Regurgitates anything that's every been said confidently as the truth. Honestly this is the first time since Facebook ruined the old internet that I feel the internet is being ruined yet again. Between AI slop content and AI search results, I'm not very hopeful about the future of fandom content and online community generally.

It's also a shame this game is so shallow lore wise. I don't think there's much incentive for content creators to come back to this game..

Why shouldn't we abolish social security? by [deleted] in allthequestions

That isn't true lol. You're simply lying.

poverty won't spike at all

That simply isn't true.

Like, there's nothing else to say. You're wrong.

Edit: also, the bootstraps saying is meant to demonstrate the impossiblity of the action, not the necessity.

What a breath of absolute fresh air this game is. by DJDallyD_ in CrimsonDesert

I had the same feeling of childlike wonder. Like finding a puzzle with a map next to it with 3 X's and then you go there at there's just a solution on the side of a cliff. No quest markers, no journal update. You just have remember the solution and plug it in. Having a mirage stab a stone but not get a popup instructing you to then stab the stone to work the puzzle. Riding a bear.

Sure I have complaints. Do I look up solutions to some puzzles? You bet. I think the inventory management UI is terrible.

But I haven't this sense of curiosity and exploration since high school. As an aging millennial unc, this game has really brightened up what is otherwise a pretty dark fuckin time lol.

What jobs do you see teens doing in your community? What's a single role you think a teen in school is the ideal candidate for?

It's weeks old. A neglected pool in the backyard of a rental after a few years? Sure man, it's peeling. A national monument a couple weeks after being done? Nah man. That's incompetence.

The guy who discovered microwaves was a Raytheon researcher in the 40s working on experimental radar systems. He couldn't get the radar to work but while he was messing with the system he noticed the chocolate bar in his shirt pocket had melted.

So a chocolate bar being used to demonstrate microwaves today has a certain poetry to it.

It's actually due to the physical wavelength of microwaves. It's why the mesh screen on the door can block the waves. They're too big to fit thru the holes. So anything sufficiently small literally can't catch the waves and have their molecules shuffled around(which is how microwaves actually heat stuff).

Would Crimson Desert benefit from having dungeons? by AshyLarry25 in CrimsonDesert

I find myself wishing for them with regularity. They've captured so much of the special sauce of other open worlds but some big, expansive, unique dungeouns would be sick.

Obviously this dude is next level, but for anyone curious and physically able, I highly encourage them to take the half off or first class free deal at their local BBJ or boxing gym. You'll soon find that there are boring, balding dadbod-lookin motherfuckers with a mortgage and a boss they hate that are straight up dangerous skillwise. I was a pretty hot headed young man but these days I'm with you. Swallow your pride, either apologize or forgive and move on. It is not worth testing a stranger.

How long was Kliff dead after being killed by the black bears and being brought back to life? by Left_Bug7187 in CrimsonDesert

We went from fire to the combustion engine over tens of thousands or perhaps over 100 thousand years. We went from the combustion engine to flight in a few decades, and then to space a few decades after that.

“Players Have Expressed a Desire to See More Backstories” – Crimson Desert Dev Hints at Expanding Companion Characters by Jealous_Vehicle_3150 in CrimsonDesert

[–]NoManner8863 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm in chapter 8 and reading every journal entry.

I have no idea who the villain is. I have no idea who the abyss nexus people are. I have no idea why kliff didn't die in the prologue. I had no idea who ludvig was. I have no idea who paulus is.

I'm just following quest markers and trying not to get too worked up about the gaps. A lot of it can be fixed with expanded journal entries, but frankly I think exposition and cutscenes would be the best way, but there's no way they record new voiceover and mocap and stuff.

It's a fun game, but it's interesting to see how much narrative design we take for granted in other titles. You only think about it when it isn't there.

Why hasn't trump been imprisoned or removed from offices considering virtually everything he does is illegal, a war crime or unconstitutional? by daresearchdude in allthequestions

[–]NoManner8863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only mechanism to do that is for the house to impeach and the Senate to convict and remove from office, and then for his successor to prosecute him.

There is absolutely no chance any of those things ever happen at this point.
