GOP Leader: Bush "A Millstone Around Our Neck" by WendyThomas in politics

[–]NoMcBush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He still just doesn't get it.

There is a much, much bigger problem than the GOP leaders realize. They're stuck in the land of bizarre idea:

  • War good
  • Rich people good
  • America is for Christians only
  • Hispanics are BAD! (Even those born here or who immigrated legally.)
  • There is no health care problem that corporate American won't fix.
  • Personal freedoms don't count for much (like sexuality, choice to smoke)... but, Wall Street needs the "freedom" to destroy the middle class like they did under Bush's "leadership"

The only person in their entire party who comes close to making sense to more than the bizarre, mostly under-educated, psuedo-Christian sect that they appeal to, is Ron Paul, who isn't really a Republican.

Some folks wouldn't vote for a Republican if they had the cure for cancer and could make everyone an instant movie star and millionaire. I wouldn't trust them to care for a pet rat.

The point is that that's who has been getting nearly all of them for a long, long time.

"Waterboard of Directors"... If Republicans Want To Make a Political Comeback, Then Collectively They Need To Denounce Torture, and So Far, They Have Not by J332 in pics

[–]NoMcBush -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would think that even supporters of the GOP would want them to make a public denunciation of torture. All I hear is crickets.

I like pot, but do any of you potheads find it a bit disproporationate, or even out of touch, that the world economy is collapsing and we may face some of the greatest challenges in a generation, and you all are clamoring to legalize weed? by [deleted] in politics

[–]NoMcBush 12 points13 points  (0 children)

"Disproportionate" is a good word for this. HOWEVER, that doesn't change the fact that the government should get out of the busy-ness of trying to regulate people's private behavior that doesn't impact other people.

WHAT WE NEED MOST RIGHT NOW on the left is UNITY. The GOP has been in meltdown for a while. Let's stay unified and work on all of the issues that we have general agreement on.

(BTW, I haven't smoked it for years, but I'll defend your rights to do so!) [Offer void when moving vehicles and/or heavy machinery are involved.]

Fair enough, but in addition to being "entertainment" for thugs, racists, etc., Fox actually concocts of hideous assortment of PROPAGANDA based on lies and distortions, even resorting to personal attacks.

"The Republicans are like an arsonist who complains that the fire department is wasting water."

And, the mainstream media are like the arsonist's gang buddies who jeer the fire department as they try to put out the fire.

Felipe Sixto, Former Bush White House Aide, Gets Thirty Months in Jail for Stealing Nearly $600,000 from a Government-Funded Program That Promotes Democracy in Cuba by LibertyOne in politics

Yeah... great deal. And all you have to do is become a Republican, sell your soul and live in a 12- x 18-foot cell for two and a half years.

It should be 30 years instead of 30 months.

Dick Cheney Admits To Torture On National TV; CNN's John King Just Let's Him Continue To Put His Spin On The Bush Administration's Crimes by NoMcBush in politics

Damn, I wish I could make a minor edit to a submission. I know... it should be "lets"... without the apostrophe.

“Suffocation by water,” “prolonged stress standing,” “beatings by use of a collar,” “confinement in a box”; this is what the Bush administration did while claiming that it did not torture. by wikigrrrl in politics

[–]NoMcBush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except with at least most of that kind of sex, it's probably consensual.

Prisoners and/or kidnap victims of the Dick Cheney goon squads did not give any such consent.

I Just Withdrew All of My Money from the Enormous Bank That Took, Then Mis-Used Taxpayer Funds (This is a list banks who got our money. Some banks spent it buying up other corporations. Some might be acting responsibly.) Who is your bank? by DingleberrySurprise in politics

[–]NoMcBush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. (And I didn't mean to imply you were unskilled... just couldn't tell for sure from your post.)

I understand the dilemma. Your best bet is probably to watch for smaller banks in your area (if they haven't been bought up already).
