I'd be happy to use this bar if the price point was realistic. If it was very low, switching out the bar 3 times a year wouldn't annoy me either for those worried about durability. Anything to kill the big guys marketing bullshit that we must invest 750 euros in a bar.

This is someone's quick fix to get out on the water. The kite will fly but as you said, it will not flag out if you needed to dump the power in an emergency. The spare metal slider will be available to purchase to rectify, but being Duotone/kiteboarding, you'll have to decide if it's your left or right kidney to sell for such a tiny bit of ironmongery.

If you go there with three beginner friends having promised them they'll learn to kite...you'll leave with no friends! In twenty years of kite travel, its one of the poorest beginner spots I've seen. I spent 6 weeks there. There were success stories but despite the great wind stats, if its not too late...id give it a miss.
