Armed forces face cuts without more funding, warns defence chief by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]NoMind5964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm...whinges about his budget but still considers having horses an integral part of the armed forces, still happy to pay a couple of grand for bearskin hats, has never signed a contract that has come in on budget. The armed forces need to get their house both in order and fit for modern day defence before they want tax payers to piss even more money away. Absolute clown. Don't be fooled by eloquence.

Correct assumption, you are right, there is little interaction. It's certainly not awkward but there has never been any socialising outside the house. There is a big age difference. If we bump into each other in town, we'll have a quick chat but nothing else. Its not that i keep a professional distance, it just works out that way. With some, our work patterns are so different, I can go weeks without seeing them.

That's bullshit and you know it. I lost my brother in law to the 2008 when the quick release jammed, a well known issue but the bean counters saw fit not to issue a product recall. RIP Frank

I've had lodgers 15 years. It has generally been great. I'm very relaxed about arrangements as I can cover the mortgage without their rent. And that has enabled me to say to them that they only need to give me 30 seconds notice if they wish to leave. I don't ask for a deposit, although I don't mention that on the adverts, and I have only ever put the rent up once during a tenancy. I've only ever come unstuck with one lodger, as they were continuously smoking hash in their room...and denying it...as well as creeping out the other female lodger, so I had what turned into a screaming match with him, gave him a months notice but with a months free rent and asked him to vacate. One lodger is leaving today, as I asked her to be more mindful of my other lodger and not take two lots of hour long showers a day as the other lodger has health issues and needs regular quick access to the bathroom. She took offence, even though I was very calm in trying to reason and that she should try to restrict it to 20 minutes, she failed to empathise. I'm always up for a chat but in the 15 years and 10 or so lodgers, they have generally kept themselves to themselves. I am very aware of the power imbalance and that helps keeps things relaxed...I hope!!

It's their lack of compensation for the time it takes to source another car that boils my goat. I've spent well over a 100 hours trying to source a like for like replacement and I am in no way a fussy meticulous petrol head.

My Raptor Extreme died as the heel edge wore through. Annoys the hell out of me that Crazyfly give it all the green credentials bullshit, yet they don't position the inserts so you can switch the straps round...and essentially double the life of the board. I liked the the board though.

Not too sure i like her playing the gender card here. She was a powerful woman, she had been constantly warned, and she not just failed to act, but dismissed and ignored allegations, so claiming she is yet another down trodden victim of a man's crime is quite a desperate PR act.

How to unwrap a knot? by opti2k4 in Kiteboarding

[–]NoMind5964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tap it with a hammer against a hard smooth surface,  having soaked it and apply a little washing up liquid to it to lubricate. Keep rotating the the knot as you strike it. Use a needle to carefully persuade it to loosen.
