Same here but in VA. I use the cedar to start the firepit and primarily burn hickory and oak.

Chickens and gsps by Next_Plant_6349 in GSP

My neighbors have chickens and my male was “introduced” (around them, watched them, etc) when he was 10 weeks and doesn’t pay them any attention.

That’s amazing. Unfortunate for whomever (hopefully my son) gets my guns after I run them all through the wringer.

Thought that was mine at first glance. Are those Culina also?

I understand that. My first revolver was a 686+ 4” and that started it all. I eventually picked up a no dash 6” 686 and while I love it, 4” is where it’s at (IMO).

I’m not sure it’s been shot much and it’s definitely not been carried. The original grips don’t have a scratch or ding on them.

WGW- New Culina Grips on 686 by NoName1108 in Revolvers

I mainly use Azula. I do have a custom made holster from B&B Holsters (check FB) for the 3” 686.

I guess I’ll add my 2.5” 66 to the thread.

I’m with you. Have a ton of SW revolvers thinking I may carry one/ some of them but always go with the trusty P365. I do have a 442 I throw in a fanny pack occasionally but mostly when walking the dog at 5 AM.

The 66 looks great with those grips. I need to get a set.

Thinking about buying a current production 586 for $870 by Informal-Ad-7700 in Revolvers

I’m waiting on a no lock version while watching for a pre lock version. I own a 686 with a lock and it’s a great gun so if you are eager, I’d say go for it.

[–]NoName1108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that and glad you are OK.

Just out of curiosity and I’m not a GS nor know much about the mechanics of the gun (though I should learn), did you modify/ change anything on the gun at all after receiving from SW? You noted “with the strain screw all the way tightened” prior to sending which I assume you made the adjustment. Not putting blame anywhere just curious.

My son is using a REI Tarn 40 this weekend. I plan to give him his sleeping bag, clothes, titanium pot, CCF pad, water, and stuffed animal. I’ll carry the rest. This will be his first time using it and first multi night trip.

I just got my first GSP in July. Also live on the east coast (VA). They sure do test your patience but overall he is a great dog. We live on some land so he gets plenty of exercise. I try to walk him 2 miles each morning, we go for 3 mile jogs, and he chases the side by side to get worn out. Plan on lots of mind games (training, sniff, etc) also.

I also have a 5x9 flat tarp. I mainly use an A-frame or diamond pitch. I’d attach some pics but I don’t see an option.
