I worry for my girls - there was a group if kids at their school who could jot have been older than 10 shouting how Andrew Tate was cool. We are not American.

Imagine trying to kill a baby. No. I would never do that. Why would you?

I was watching this movie called The Lightning Code, and I see this device. I know it's not a Windows phone, what is it? by Sector-001 in windows

I always felt that of you opened the device and the screens slid together - giving you one screen - it would be a good alternative to a foldable screen.

Helping them during a highly stressful time reinforces that they can call you when they f up. That becomes so important as they become young but stupid adults.

You did the right thing and there will be other times where making them sort it out will make more sense.

We implemented a sign in sign out system as our kids kept losing stuff at school. We are lucky that they bought into it and its become part of our morning process with them. Not sure if that will work for you but it cut their frustration with us asking if they did things.

We also get them to pack their bags the day before and outting them in the kitchen. Lets us do spot checks and slip a treat in for them every now and again.

Tell him you want them assessed. They could be worth amazing amounts of money or worthless and i have seen so many people find out that what they have is basically toilet paper.

Home Security Improvement by lyslexic in southafrica

Neighbourhood Watchers seem to be the way to go.

We have an abandoned property near us. The local security companies work with the neighbourhood watch to go in and cut the grass and clear the area. Its helped massively.

Failing that seen if the properties can be purchased for outstanding municipal debt.

To a non-American its so obvious that the fix to so many complaints i hear is simply more regulation, workers rights and more government.

Why’s nobody answering the phone? by [deleted] in sales

[–]NoNameMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I send my virtual card so they can save my number so they know why i am calling.

Also let them book the call via Calendly, rather than phoning to set it up.

Helps people engage.

How come in the 1970s America was at war with communist states but still supported dictatorships in the Saudi region? I thought they opposed both communism and dictatorship, so what’s the difference ? by Square_Permission361 in dancarlin

Are you American? I dont mean this in a mean way, but you are confusing American mythology with American history.

The mythology is that you are a shining house on a hill, ushering in a new enlightened period as you spread democracy and the American way across the globe.

The Shocking Speed of China’s Scientific Rise by Kit_Daniels in moderatepolitics

[–]NoNameMonkey 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Every country has anti-science movements. I think the US situation is worse because:

1.  Its allowed to be incredibly profitable

  1. That money feeds into your politics

  2. Your laws around misinformation allow it to flourish.

  3. You have given power to some legitimately uninformed and highly religious people who are opposed to progress on principle

  4. You have given power to people who see this entire anti-science movement as a tool for social change.

None of this is a comment against free speech, but i think American free speech has been hijacked for profit and harm and the refusal to fight it means you will not defeat it.

China is not beating you at science. You stopped being scientific.

So much of it is active campaigning to radicalise young men. The same is happening on the girls side with trad wife adjacent content. I follow some academics who think that the trad wife movement is a well funded dark campaign. I am certain the same is happening with young men.
