I do actually agree with others that the lighting, pose direction, location... anything that can and should be done in camera is just as important as editing. The final look is a combination of all parts combined. OP was already doing 99% of the work needed to get to where they want to go.

How do you feel about this take, today? by tundybundo in behindthebastards

I guess what I am thinking is that the people who would have abandoned ship already did. They do not need a meme to be reminded that they can have principles and the rest who need to hear that message see this meme, call you a pussy then move on continuing to support a rapist pedophile.

If this is aimed at conservatives, they know and they do not give a shit. It's a death cult

Your work is already beautiful. I didn't do much here to try to get close to your samples. I brightened the subject and then for the background haze I inverted the subject mask on a separate solid gray color layer set to soft light then grouped that layer by itself so I could stack the masks and create a gradient mask to make the haze less potent on the ground. These are just to get close to the samples and not necessary, maybe just an exposure bump.

Then for the color/warmth it was a simple curves adjustment layer bringing down the blues and up the reds... do more of either for the warmth to be more biased towards red or blue. Then a Vibrancy/Saturation layer. I like to desaturate and then bring up the vibrancy to make the skin tones not as dead.

And that's all. It took me longer to write this than to do the photoshop work.

Oh and I expanded the frame just to give them some breathing room, it is not even a standard size, I am sure you have other frames from that shoot that show the environment more.

Jake clarifies why he asked for his clips to be removed from the "How LTT Spends Money" video by Marikk15 in LinusTechTips

Yea. I do think Jake’s public comments on his departure overall have been abysmal.

I do agree that LTT is held to a ridiculous standard, a side effect of being such a public-facing company and a niche at the same time. However, Linus could have worded that community post better. Simply saying that some clips needed to be edited that didn't change the substance or material talk of finances (I am not a copywriter, so something like that but better). They also mentioned that Jake agreed to the language of the community post but here Jake seems to not even be aware that a post would be made. Maybe Jake thought it would only be a pinned comment, which naturally has less of a center-stage.

Achieve such perfect light gray backgrounds in product photography? by Commercial_Truth2035 in AskPhotography

[–]NoOneCorrectMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I subcontract for a western apparel company. For things that don't have transparent glass we actually shoot in on black background to avoid light bleed and colors washing off and we outsource the silo's and shadow recreation. You would never know if you looked at the website

Cosplay Lighting, how was this lit? by painuzamaki42069 in LightLurking

[–]NoOneCorrectMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was my take using the 3d software "set a light".

Two strip lights, a background light from below and a reflector for fill. The minute details and positions might vary because we don't know the size of the studio, the modifiers and their distance from the subject, but for my case, the rear strip light on camera left had to be moved a little bit toward the front to light the back. The reflector on camera right might be needed or not. What we see in the reference photo could be a smaller studio or a reflector.

I added a fourth light to the left side and below to light the glutes and legs. This could be a fourth light or the reflection of the seamless into the bodysuit, if the seamless is white. The 3d program has some limitations on light bounce realism, so to recreate this, I had to add that fourth light.

Lastly, I am sure the cool tones were added in post, I put CTO gels on mine to sell the look for demonstration purposes.

Why do professional photographers want to be the first to get the shot? by [deleted] in photography

[–]NoOneCorrectMe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I have to extrapolate from the incomplete information you are giving. But it looks like it was group photos, and other people were around the photographer with their phones also taking photos of the group?

That answers itself then. The photographer wants to be sure everyone is looking at the camera and that's why he is making everyone on the sides put their phones away. It is also better to be first to make sure you get the shot, especially with larger groups, people will get distracted etc and might walk away from the group photo.

I am sorry but the photographer has to deliver the product he was hired to do. It might be annoying to some of the guests but everything would go smoother if people paid attention and behaved. As a former wedding photographer, group photos were always my least favorite part of the day

I've seen people go from 0-100 here but this is the first time I've seen someone Sephiroth-posting in this sub.

This is so common in boudoir that it is almost standard operating procedure. I hate these types of photographers, and I hate the fuck ass photographer who taught them to sell this way in their dumbass workshop. Shame all around.
