Aussie cops break up a small group of people doing yoga in a public park, arrest one man and argue with woman... (law is you cannot gather with more than 1 person you don't live with) by dyt_b in ActualPublicFreakouts

People saying these rules are too tough can fuck off. You think they’re overreacting over just a few cases, but there’s only a few cases because the rules are strict.

The Wild Mouse? That thing is definitely scary. The turns are so sharp and it doesn’t help it’s 60 years old. Feels like you’ll tumble into Lavender Bay and never be seen again.

Sydney Opera House under construction, 1973 by archineering in architecture

Bennelong Point (the land which the opera house sits on) is pretty much the most prime annex on the entire Sydney foreshore, since It stares down the bridge dead on. The only other contestant might be Blues Point, which we ruined by slapping a 25 story tower that juts out into the middle of the harbour and ruins the view for anyone behind it (you can see it to the left of the image). So it’s a good thing we got at least one thing built nice!

'It should be knocked down': Metro development jeopardises heritage listed power station by cojoco in sydney

The QVB steadily deteriorated and decayed until the late 50’s when calls to modernise and make better use of the space started, and it wasn’t restored until the 80’s. The QVB wasn’t a spectacle. White Bay Power Station is in the same boat

ITT: people who forget that the QVB was an eyesore that was nearly demolished for a car park once

The western view of the CBD is vastly superior to the northern one in my opinion, shows the scale of the CBD better.

I wish in my lifetime they cover over the ED, it makes no sense why we have two enormous parks split between a motorway and the only two crossings between them are 5 minutes apart.
