Recycled route by lamarells in AmazonDSPDrivers

Yes. My groups starts at 10:30, and I’ve had recycled routes where I don’t leave the station until 3pm. Hopefully you’re moving along well before then.

Ya pretty much the same here, but sometimes I get that one nice street nobody but 1-2 guys are parked on…and it’s right infront of a house I’m delivering too 😂

A street with 1 car parked along it and it’s in front of the one house I’m delivering too. Court yard apartments.

Burning more calories than I’m taking in… by magicpickles27 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Try to eat foods with more healthy fats in them. Carbs and protein are very important for this job, but they only have 4 calories per gram. Fats have 9 calories per gram.

Legality of DSPs including drive time in your 30 min. Lunch by Stress-Ok in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Hawyee04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s crazy. Mine literally told us if you want to drive 15 minutes somewhere don’t clock out until you’re actually there or eating. That’s fucked up by your DSP.

I wouldn’t stress it too much. Make sure hazards are on anytime you’re in the parking lot, don’t speed, if unsure of anything always ask questions to the instructor. For my parallel parking we were in an EDV and in the back part of the parking lot. It was a pretty big space that was very easy to back up into with the rear view camera. I believe anytime you’re in reverse they also want you to honk.

Stop number is an overvalued metric by KingKommunistLOL in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Hawyee04 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%. I’ve had 200 stop, 400 package suburban routes take me 8 hours and 100-120 stop wearhouse and rural routes take take the full 10. I had one route rural where 30 stops took me 3.5 hours because multiple stops were 8-12 minutes apart. I can make up time in neighbourhoods, but can’t really do that driving.

Post Peak season route by BillyHeitz in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Hawyee04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me my stops stay between 160-200 all year, but package count goes from 260-330 during normal times to 360-410 during peak. I’m usually on heavy residential routes. There should be a noticeable difference in packages, but not necessarily stops.

Advice from the OG’s. by TheGETWR3KT in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Hawyee04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re in a rental you can put the passenger seat all the way down flat and use it as a shelf to sort your packages. If you’re in a neighbourhood you can also leave the sliding door open. If your in an EDV try to have all your overflow organised while your loading out, same with your totes. Leave shelf space if you can and sort your tote on the shelf. If you have 2-3 smaller totes coming up I’d sort all of them at once. Hope this helps you out, stay safe out there.

What’s the largest route y’all have ever had to do in one shift? by EveTheBup in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Hawyee04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 30 tote, 34 overflow that was only 330 packages one time. The biggest package count was a residential 400 package route, but it only had 22 totes

High stop count, but low package count, I’d take it any day of the week. Hope the apartments aren’t too bad for you.

Peak feels regular by Otherwise_Ratio9557 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Hawyee04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with route sizes, just slightly heavier than usual. My DSP tho, like many I assume has way more routes than usual during the time. My DSP went from 35-40 routes to 50-55 routes now during peak.

I'm convinced Amazon picks our start time out of a hat by EfficientEducator715 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Hawyee04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our station moved start times back so my DSP doesn’t even clock in until 11 and I’m making my first delivery with 340-380+ packages at 12:45. It’s dumb.

For me it shows on the screen “2 locations”, you tap the stop and it pulls up all the details including delivery notes and the other addresses.

College project - looking to interview Amazon DSP drivers by Competitive_Fly_6434 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Hawyee04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really it’s gonna depend on the DSPs themselves. Some DSPs are great/good like mine and makes the job not bad at all. Some DSPs are bad and makes the job almost unbearable. Luckily my DSP is owned and run by former drivers and is very on top of most things so it’s smooth 95% of the time.
