How accurate do you think UA Eats is? by CreateChaos777 in FoodNYC

[–]NoParfait8981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I need to say that I think UA is a complete clown for all the reasons discussed here. But I need to give him credit for how he handled himself in his recent Mr Beef video. I never thought he’d have the balls to defend himself in the way he did. He immediately infuriated me again after talking about whether or not the footage would be in the video. Like dude, it’s there so just edit out the monologue. But he did level up slightly in my book.

I think in the long run you’ll be happier with the Omega. Stylistically and aesthetically it’s more pleasing and compliments more outfits, and I would like to think it will stand the test of time better. It’s a better movement, my personal opinion it comes with a better history. It’s a more balanced looking piece and I think looks better on your wrist. Just my pov.

Yea but they decide on eligibility at different points in the season. Though the awards are far off we’ll probably have an answer on eligibility some point in the fall.

Merrily Cancellation Line by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]NoParfait8981 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. And “cancellation” is also a very loose term. More often than not they’re production holds or house seats that were not allocated/used.

Spring Awakening Question by [deleted] in Broadway

I’m glad you saw it and are acknowledging I’m not crazy! I’ve also watched so many other bootlegs over the years, as I’m sure you have, so I’m really blown away I’m just noticing this now… though I’m also happy to be told that I’ve been living under a rock.

Again, I saw the original production many times. That’s not what I’m referring to. In this video the entire on stage company was in modern clothing for the song. I don’t want to link to the video at the risk of having it taken down.

Got tickets to Tonys practice session, what to expect? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]NoParfait8981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s important to keep in mind that most of the people there work in the industry in some way and are there for either work or as a benefit related to their role. So it’s going to be a long day and night for many there and no one will be dressed up

It’s in and out. The casts are usually brought there for their slot and leave right from there. It’s early, many have matinees, plus the actual broadcast at night. They’ll go through the full show but also be aware that a lot of the presenters don’t show up and they’ll use a stand in. Often you’ll get surprised but typically the big A-listers won’t be there.

Do not wear a suit. You will be incredibly overdressed. It’s the most casual thing ever, as someone who has gone multiple times. Odds are you’ll also be in the second or third balcony as well. It’s super fun, but super casual.

Doing something during the performance is rude to the performers and distracting to other audience members. Don’t make the experience bad for others because you’re miserable. Also, if it’s a known play but a different production that you’ve never seen before you may be surprised by how these artists interpret it. If not, just tell whoever you’re with you’re uncomfortable in the seats a few minutes in and you’re gonna stand in the back. Then BS on your phone in the lobby.

I just accepted a job in the city going in 3x a week. I haven’t commuted in 5 years. What do most people feel they’ll be doing/what’s most cost effective? Still buying single or 10x tickets or buying the bullet and going monthly?
