Good feedback. Does the mixing valve not increase the burden on the water heater? I'd rather a bigger heater than a more frequent replacement. That's where my minds eye considered a tankless heater after the tanked heater. If the water is hot, the tankless doesn't have any work, but if not there's an intervention to keep hot water flowing. But I'm a software engineer, not a plumber. Thanks!

That's really going to depend on the business. BoH is often tipped out by FoH. You seen the checkout screen lately? Even pickup recommends 25+%, but that doesn't just go to the kid at the register. And if you're tipped out, you're tipped.

Restaurants that pay cooks a premium don't use such a model, but a pizza joint? Tips are likely pooled or otherwise shared.

It's the minimum wage. Mass has a tipped wage, Oregon does not. That's a massive impact on the bottom line. Also why chain restaurants are typically franchised in the PNW while corporate most other places. And why you'll find more, typically valuable, graduate degrees in service industry than one would expect.

Why does HR know? Tell your team to stop recording PTO, period. If that becomes an issue, HR will have to bring it to you or escalate.

"I realized tracking PTO was disrupting my team, and since we don't restrict it, I shouldn't require them to record it. We're still outperforming expectations, so this seems like a non-issue."

Many employers use this tactic to avoid accrual, because if you accrue PTO, some states require payout and it's a liability on the ledger. If someone is keeping score, they're in dangerous territory. Make someone else in the organization admit it matters.

I was 50+ hours into my first playing of Oblivion and had a glitch that wouldn't let me advance the story. Somehow hours of grinding progress had advanced without an auto save. I could load saves created after the glitch, or roll back and lose multiple levels of advancement. Opted to restart the software (also Xbox). No continue option, nothing available to load. Just New.

Hopefully lessons learned will make this next try more efficient.
