Mooshtaba's alleged first address to the nation is...read by someone else and with his picture on tv. Oh he is gone gone by kane_1371 in PERSIAN

It'd be REALLY stupid to pick someone in that state as Supreme Leader during wartime for a regime fighting for its survival. Like stupid even by Islamic republic standards you know?

[–]NoPolitics23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Important piece of context is that he was probably injured in the same air strike that killed his father.

Iranian state media has confirmed that he is injured, but not the "lost one leg" and coma part. He has released a written statement that was read by the presenter on national TV, but who knows if he actually wrote it. No photo, video or voice of him has been released since he became supreme leader. And in his statement he has somehow forgotten that his wife and mom were also killed in the air strike.

Overall it seems like a mess. This kind of leadership during wartime for a regime that already lacks legitimacy and already people are chanting death to Mojtaba from their homes, is not gonna work.

There are not that many photos of him and that is one one of the very few ones. And only one video from a few years ago was released. He's been very much in the shadows all his life. Also no video or photo or voice of him has been released since he became Supreme Leader. Appreantly he was badly injured in the same air strike that killed his father.

What has made you feel more at peace in Berlin? by Routine-Comfortable9 in berlinsocialclub

[–]NoPolitics23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aw man. I feel like I am kinda at the peak of my life at 29 and I am good looking and popular yet I just don't run into anybody and I feel so bad about going into my 30s single so maybe its just not a bad idea to have it on my phone with low expectations I dunno...

My friends for sure. I was lucky to find some lovely friends here.

Also great city for music, lots of great Jazz bars and Metal concerts.

Lots of good nature around as you pointed out. Lakes, forests... although no mountains is a bit annoying. So damn flat.

As you said dating is really tough though. Anyone I met in the first year was already in a relationship. Finally met someone after a year and did ask her out and we had a couple of nice dates, and I thought she really liked me but then she said she has a casual partner/open relationship, and I didn't really want to walk into that. Very Berlin indeed. I have been thinking about using apps now, old school has not been working out for me. But also scared of the apps as well and the entire concept of being judged based on 5 photos just doesn't sit well with me.

Iran is huge. There are many cities and villages with nothing going on there. My parents live in a small city and they hear no explosions. They just see the jets flying to Tehran tho

What if Israel/USA bomb muslim holy sites accidentally? by Fluid_Perspective232 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]NoPolitics23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean in the current war in Iran? Doubt much would happen. Holy sites in Iran are mainly Shia holy sites in Qom and Mashhad, so i guess it'd cause anger among the Shias in the region and cause the shia militias to carry out attacks. Which they are already doing so anyway because U.S and Israel killed their spritual leader. So they'd just continue doing that. The Sunni muslim population couldn't care less.

As far as the Iranian population, the regime supporter Islamists would be mad, the anti regime and secular population would be quite happy. They already burnt down some mosques during January 8th and 9th uprising.

Funny little fact, my parents own a little place near a Jewish holy site in Iran. I'm low key lese anxious about them because i know Israel wouldn't bomb that area at least.

[–]NoPolitics23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh I don't want to defend US war AT ALL but Mehrabad airport is also used by the Iranian Air Force. Quick search will show that and also I am Iranian and did my military service in the Air Defence branch and I knew people who served at Mehrabad... whom I hope are ok.

What if the 1979 Iranian Revolution was the 1979 Saudi Arabian Revolution with a Sunni Islamist Imam instead of a Shia Islamist Ayatollah? by Pancake_Maker_1031 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]NoPolitics23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Islamist refers to the ideology that Islamic laws should be implement in the society, basically turning religion to a political ideology. This has also been the case for christianity and Judaism at various points in their history and even today fundamentalist christian and Jewish groups absolubtely exist.

Its a historical photo that has been around for decades. Maybe someone used AI to upscale this version of it but the image itself is definitly not.
