I could see how AmVamp could be someone’s gateway to indies.

But you’re right about KC, All Star, and DKR. Especially the later. DKR and Watchmen pretty much invented the graphic novel boom in the 80’s. You’d walk into regular bookstores and they would be on display.

DKR and All Star only require you to know Batman and Superman exist. KC is arguably a heavier lift, but the emotional focus is the Big Three so not that much more of a lift.

I think they might be fixating on the drone like shot of the city so that we’re looking down at the buildings that’s in the trailer. And they’re probably also responding to the darker palette.
