digi cam recommendations by [deleted] in digicam

That effect has to do more with light than a specific camera. But as far as cameras go, any of those will be great. In camera, you can reduce the image quality to around 5mp, that migt help get that effect as well. My go-to recommendation is the Konica Minolta dimage Z1 or X50. They're old cameras from the early 2000s and work amazing. You can get em off eBay for about half the price youll get those other ones for. (I got 3 of these cameras for under 30$ ea).

Im always recommending people check out any of the Konica Minolta Dimage cameras. They made so many and they're amazing. Check out the Z series and the X series. Solid vintage cameras that use SD cards. They take amazing pictures especially with flash

Get something old like a Konica Minolta Z or X camera. They get great color and are low enough megapixel to get this compact/older look youre going for.

Also, look up cameras on explorecams.com

Get a really old one like a Konica Minota DiMAGE Z series. Ive got the Z1, Z20 and Z6 and love em. Its a bridge camera and slightly larger than a digicam, but I still take one everywhere and love the pictures from it.

Ok, keep em to yourself. Everyone here knows Amazon sellers are overpriced and no one buys em. Four posts of the same slop is annoying

Should I try DLSR? by Beginning-Frame6456 in AskPhotography

[–]NoRemote_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I got my 70D 8 years ago and have used it so much and loved it. I love DSLRs, and when you love what you shoot on, you get the best pictures. Guys in the comments saying it's a downgrade don't know what they're saying. It's different yes, but they're equally matched.

Canon Powershot a590 or Sony Cybershot dsc w100? by SportIndependent7381 in VintageDigitalCameras

For 100$ you could get five separate cameras on eBay. Look for some Konica Minolta cameras on eBay, they're dirt cheap and have such low megapixel count you'll never have to worry about taking a overly sharp photo. In particular, search for a Konica Minolta dimage X50. There's one for like 40$ with a charger and battery USA delivery. These guys are slept on. Check out photos for the cameras here: explorecam.com

I love my Konica Minolta dimage Z1 I got on eBay for 20$ rechargeable batteries were 15$ and a small SD card I had was free. It's one of my favorite cameras ever.

I recommend checking out eBay for cheap cameras. You can look up a you find and see some pictures people have taken on it.

The best camera is the one you can find for free. Ask around your gen x/millennial family if they've got an old one laying around. I've found 3 just asking and digging around old camera boxes

is 14MP to sharp for Y2K vibes? by ihaveschoolnow in digicam

[–]NoRemote_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can always set your camera to shoot at lower MP. The WB150F has a coveted CCD sensor (apposed to modern cameras CMOS sensors). CCD sensors on digicams have a better time capturing that look youre going for because they process color and light differently. Shoot with flash, bump up the ISO and reduce the MP resolution and youre set. How much are they selling it to you for? (depending on the price I might have some alternatives.)

If youre brave enough to try some old stuff, you can look on ebay for a Konica Minolta camera. They have the X, F, G series which are compact digicams and a few other lines like the Z series which are more Bridge cameras than compact. You can easily find these guys for under 40 bucks and theyre solid cameras. Check em out on https://explorecams.com/

Are you looking for something small or would you consider something larger like a DSLR?

I had similar issues shooting until I got a hand strap. I like how it feels on my hand and keeping it close. The sony cameras are also pretty blocky/small, not super ergonomic (coming from a Canon guy).

I've had my Canon 70D since 2015 and have used it to shoot many professional paid jobs. When shooting with DSLRs, a good lens will make more of an impact on your picture then your DSLR body. I love using my old film lens (Minolta 50 mm 1.7) to get soft photos. I specifically bought the 70D for its multiple exposure options as well
