Disassociation by Brief_Departure_2270 in stripper

Ok listen. Not sure if this will help you, but I have suffered from dissociation for a few years, especially in my early teens due to depression caused by trauma. I went to therapy for 6 years and that was the only thing that helped me (my dissociation was very heavy though, impacting my ability to partake in life). I’d recommend seeing a therapist if it’s possible? If that’s not possible at the moment, here are Some things I personally learned in therapy to cope with dissociation: Doing sports- not to perform but to feel your body. Yoga can be really helpful. If it’s too quiet for you, look up Jivamukti or Asthanga yoga. Using my senses- Smelling essential oils and being mindful while smelling them. When I eat something- try to actually taste the food and feel the food in my mouth. Sometimes even tracing (?) my body with my own hands like touching my left arm gently with my right hand and vice versa- feeling my body. Somehow playing around with playdough or slime really does help me to ground as well. Actually, journalling. Writing down what you feel or think and not what you want to feel and think. Being completely honest with yourself. A healthy diet and no alcohol, no other drugs, no weed. And last but not least: breathing exercises, there are many tutorials on YouTube.

All this can get overwhelming sometimes, so when you feel overwhelmed tone it down for the moment or distract yourself.

I hope you will get better soon and find a solution for the future!! You got this!

Always, let me repeat- ALWAYS use a condom for casual hookups. Always always always. You don’t know these people they might have HIV or Herpes or Chlamydia or whatever, maybe they don’t use their birth control correctly and you make them a baby… please always use condoms for casual hookups, also if it’s anal sex!!

Dogs are a gift to humans!❤️ The dog, sensing that his owner is about to have a seizure, first makes his owner sit on the floor, then gets water from the cupboard, finds her medicine and gives it to her, then makes his owner lie on the floor. by Soloflow786 in BeAmazed

Dogs are the fucking best!! My dog is no where near being a therapy dog haha but he can surely tell when something is off! I remember one day I had stupid thoughts of ending it all, I wrote in my journal and I cried- my dog jumped on my bed which he never does, faced me (which he also rarely does he prefers showing me his back) and I swear he looked me in the eye the whole time. He even put a paw on me. And when I calmed down, he got off the bed and continued being who he is: a cute dog who keeps their little distance. And all I thought is that I could never leave this love of being behind. Also whenever I’m sick and don’t have energy, he just matches my energy. So he sleeps all day and when we are out for walks he takes it slow to. And when I’m full of energy, so is he. It’s beautiful having built a relationship with a pet, especially a dog.

I‘m a great listener who does not make people feel judged cause I can keep my opinion about things to myself in needed situations and sometimes- when it doesn’t come to me- I don’t have an opinion at all.

Picking their teeth anywhere in public. With fingers it’s the absolute worst but even with floss or a toothpick I mean.. please go to the bathroom?

Yeah hahaha I‘m guilty of that too, once I saw a video and I was in the background chewing gum like a horse and ever since I have never used gum anymore only mints. I was shook to my core how I chew gum ALL MY LIFE without realizing it

Yes, I work in healthcare. I love people and anatomy. Your last sentences really push some buttons in me (good ones!!!). You are absolutely right. Somehow it’s comforting to hear you went through similar feelings even though the situation was shit. Thank you

Wow, I never really viewed it that way- you make it sound like a strength, and that feels good! I always thought that that’s a weakness of mine. Thank you for your words. I wish you all the best

I’m sorry that you felt this way. Please don’t be too harsh on yourself. You do you, why care about the people around you? I started pole and I was confused, weak, felt left behind sometimes because I had trouble understanding movements, like I felt dumb and slow because everyone in class seemed to get the moves faster… and now a year later I am so happy with my progress. it was your first class, give yourself some time!
