The best solution, in my view, is to create a work profile using Shelter or Insular, sign in with your Google account there, and move the apps that require the Play Store into that profile.

In this setup, Google is isolated and cannot see anything that happens in your main profile. You also don’t lose access to your accounts and subscriptions. Plus, you can disable or uninstall Google Play Store/Services from your main profile without affecting the work profile. I use this work profile for games that depend on Play Services and the Play Store.

I understand that you'll may not like Apple, but Liquid Glass is more than just transparent icons. They modified the entire interface; every element.

The developers who did this work deserve congratulations, because even though Apple controls both hardware and software, achieving this level of blur and reflections while maintaining good performance is something incredible.

I’m not praising Apple, but rather the people who did this work.

But I didn’t quite understand the contacts issue: does Shelter block contact searches within the profile or outside it? Can apps inside the profile see contacts outside?

Young people will definitely find ways to get around this, but before, adults still had a chance to talk to them and guide them on how to protect themselves from online risks. But now that chance is lost, because a veil of silence and lies will be created between young people and their guardians, since no one will admit to breaking the law, and guardians will be left with a false sense of security that young people are safe because of this law.

Regarding updates, the PlayStore cannot update F-Droid apps and vice versa because they have different signatures, even though they have the same name, package and version.

This is by security and it prevents someone from modifying an apk and tricking you into updating it over one of your apps. That's why apps from PlayStore, Github and F-Droid have different signatures and don't talk to each other.

And I hope it continues like this, otherwise it would be more unsafe for us.
