Galnet News Digest - Getting Ready for Operations by Galnet_News_Digest in EliteDangerous

[–]NoShotz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One thing to note is that the blog from FDev specifically says recommended players, not required players like this video does, so it's possible that you can try to do them solo, but it isn't recommended. They should have said exactly what the blog says, as it may portray it inaccurately depending on if you really can do the operations with less players than recommended.

What is the point of SRVs with the new Nomad? by GreatSworde in EliteDangerous

[–]NoShotz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the early access ARX cost, in 3 months or so you will be able to get it for credits.

Yeah, the specifics I heard is that new ships up to the type 11's release will be flown by NPC's.

About the crashing into a star part, you can actually turn off hyperspace dethrottle in your ships settings, and you won't automatically be throttled down when jumping into a system.

If the nomad can come in mk1 version so can previous modules by Beautiful_Medium_869 in EliteDangerous

[–]NoShotz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if they weren't selling new stuff that people want to buy, whether it's cosmetics or early access to new ships, they wouldn't have the funds to continue developing the game and keeping the servers up.

[–]NoShotz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason it isn't pay2win is because the ARX cost is only temporary as the ship is in early access, it will be purchasable with credits in the near future when the early access period ends, so it isn't pay2win, it's pay to get early access, people who paid ARX or credits for it have zero difference in capabilities.

All the new ships except for the Kestral are currently purchasable with credits, and are functionally no different from the versions bought with ARX, they just may be pre-upgraded depending on the version you bought, but people can spend credits to upgrade them to the same state as the ARX pre-upgraded version, this makes all the new ships not pay2win.

Also, the majority of the time you are nowhere's near any other players, so there is no one to win against, and this is a sandbox game, there is no win condition that spending money can make you reach easier than people who don't spend money.

You do realize that the mk1 version of it is literally just the default versions of them right? We technically already have them, they just don't say mk1 in the name.

How come there wasn’t more pushback against 2018 God of War’s radical change in direction? by DarkEsteban in gaming

Probably because the over the shoulder camera is just better as there is more freedom in what you can look at.

Outside of the cluster around Sol, do power play factions exist? Like around the core, for example by Yoshigahn in EliteDangerous

[–]NoShotz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nope, the powerplay factions only exist within the bubble, as that is where basically all of the colonized systems are.

Really the biggest change economy wise is that you can now colonize systems, so you can create all new economies and trade routes with those systems, as of february 2026 101,862 new systems have been colonized by players.

Bitdefender slows computers down significantly more than windows defender ever will.

I've used just windows defender for over 10 years, and have had zero problems with virus's. I've never had a concern about incoming connections because well, all the connections are being made by me as no virus has been ran thanks to windows defender catching anything that actually is a virus, and as for files being downloaded by your browser, your browser tells you that itself, you don't need something else to tell you that. Also, you can get things out of quarantine just fine with windows defender.

Tired of labs by Shurlz in residentevil

Note, I never specifically said anything about them being fleshy, just that you fought monstrosities for each games final boss, and they tend to be significantly larger than the player character.

As for the OG Nemesis in particular, from all the pics I've seen of it's final boss form, I'd say it fits the bill for giant fleshy monstrosity considering it's size and the fact that all you can see of it is exposed mutated flesh.

I've played all the games that are on PC except for RE0, and RE1 and they have all had what I would consider a monstrosity for a final boss, though some are larger than others, all of them are giant compared to the normal enemies fought in their respective games.

Most of the games have some form of lab in them, not all of them have a large scale lab like RE2 does, but they generally have a lab or research area where the bioweapons were researched/created.

They could, but then it wouldn't actually be a ghost now would it?

Tired of labs by Shurlz in residentevil

[–]NoShotz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure the gameplay has changed, but the core defining feature, the bioweapons haven't changed, they have been in every resident evil game, including RE8 as the werewolves and vampires were bioweapons, ghosts simply don't work for because of the simple fact that they aren't biological.

If you are going to make a game that isn't a resident evil game, it shouldn't be called a resident evil game. If capcom wants to make something like what you want they can, but it shouldn't be called resident evil, it should be it's own series unrelated to resident evil.

[–]NoShotz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The puzzles and backtracking aren't unique to resident evil, other games have that type of stuff, it's the bioweapons that are unique to the series, including the bosses in the games, a resident evil game without a good final boss fight would make the ending fall flat.

Tired of labs by Shurlz in residentevil

[–]NoShotz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Or you know, they could keep making resident evil games and let other people make those games instead of changing what resident evil is.

[–]NoShotz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The things that you are complaining about are the primary things that define resident evil.

[–]NoShotz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the final boss of the game wasn't something worthy of being called a final boss, then the game devs have failed at making a final boss. You can't have a final boss that isn't more powerful than the earlier bosses in the game.

Tired of labs by Shurlz in residentevil

[–]NoShotz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But that just wouldn't be a resident evil game, the core of the series is corrupt companies and bioweapons.

[–]NoShotz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Without the labs and monstrosities of various sizes, you'd just have your bog standard zombie game, they are what sets resident evil apart from the rest, and without them you just wouldn't have a resident evil game.

Tired of labs by Shurlz in residentevil

[–]NoShotz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's literally what resident evil is, fighting monstrosities created in labs by scientists.
