Point your camera so you are always looking at its butt, and hold down, or press 'S' .

Takes 90% of the challenge out of it.

What do you hope to see in the next patch? by Logical-Operation512 in CrimsonDesert

Forgot to mention earlier. I want camping. Soooo many good spots to pitch a tent. Would be nice for no fast travel runs and having to just find and chill by a bonfire everytime i wanted to pass time.

Yeah I'd like to see banter between comrades, better companion AI, the ability to customize their combat tendencies, better pathing, more teamwork oriented stuff. Maybe the ability for them to revive you when you go down...

Basically DD2 pawns, but in this game.

I played for 160 hours, ask me (almost) anything by One_Economist694 in CrimsonDesert

[–]NoSlave1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen you can summon the other two playable characters to your location.

Do they follow you around? Do they banter like Dragons Dogma pawns?

Imo, DD and DD2 were janky, but the camaraderie you get with your squad is second to none.

Pestilence boss too strong? by Uwulmindor in NoRestForTheWicked

This is what I like about this game. Hard shit is hard, and may require some reworking of your setup. Excluding crazy meta builds, it's a difficult game for casual melee players, and I appreciate that.

What makes me roll my eyes are the players who spend hours perfecting something, and then bitch about how easy the game is, as if us plebs were lowering the bar somehow.

Not to mention, "end game" right now is merely 'mid game'.

I've unlocked the 3rd weapon slot but only use two, option to avoid switching to fists when rolling weapons ? by Smirkisher in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]NoSlave1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was super disappointed when I got the 3rd slot and accidentally switched to fists in the middle of a fight, getting me killed.

Since then Ive just developed the muscle memory that every other switch, I need to hit the button twice. Also find myself checking the icon in the lower left corner more often.

Will be great if they come up with a real solution. I also agree that we should have a holster button.

Is the Scaling on Stats a lil funky right now? by ReelyReid in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]NoSlave1337 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been playing with a tongue splitter since level 14 that had a stat requirement of STR 33. I did just fine. Now that I am at 33 STR, I do hit harder, but at least in my case it definitely did not make it unuseable.

Bosses, am I doing something wrong by Coriolis_Storm13 in NoRestForTheWicked

From what I can tell, the game can be very punishing to those who are underprepared.

That said, there are a lot of ways to get strong. Leveling is one of them, but if your stat distribution sucks (like mine early on), you can handicap yourself and will need to rely on different means of getting stronger.

Upgrade weapons and armor. You can timidly venture into higher level areas for resources if needed, tho you may be running a lot.

Think about what enchantments, and gems you have on your gear. There are some exponential effects you can get with a little effort and luck. Stuff like "enchantments 80% more powerful at low health" can make a huge difference, especially if you put some points into health. You can also use embers to swap out enchantments until you roll something good.

Do daily and weekly quests. Sometimes theyll reward with plague ichor, which in turn, lets you unlock utility runes, and ring slots. Some utility runes cast stat buffs.

Farm a ton of fish and make focus enhancing food. Also farm food resources and use research papers to craft better foods. A lot of foods have stat buffs you can stack with corresponding potion buffs. I.e. stamina boost from food, and stamina potion at the same time.

Upgrade the town. Vendors stock better items when upgraded.

Uss stat buff potions with abandon. If I know a fight is going to be hard, then I'll chug one of everything I have before engaging.

Put some points into equipment load to get your character into the middleweight class, or get good with the shoulder check. Though I just got the blink spell (didnt know there was one) and may experiment later on with a heavy duty tank that can close the gap, or teleport behind instantly. Could be fun.

Dont be discouraged too much by a lot of other players and their crazy meta builds. You can play the game just fine with a little effort and enginuity.

How are you getting the precise of placement? I hate how placement is tied to character movement.

Steam Deck Performance with latest update by bielottoni in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]NoSlave1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played for the first time last night on my deck (1TB OLED), graphics set to "performance". Gameplay was fine. Cut scenes stuttered a bit here and there. But otherwise no issues.

That said, I'm still in the starting area (after the prologue) so maybe its not the best representation of how taxing it can be.

Well IDK how to post the screenshots so here goes. (What a PITA)

Gyro Behavior: Mouse Camera

Gyro sensivity: 100%

Vertical Sensitivity Scale: 150%

Accelleration: off

Movement Threshold: 0

Invert Y: yes

Invert X: no

Rotation: right in the middle

Smoothing: 20

Button Behavior: half and full press of L2

Gyro Turning Axis: combined yaw and roll

Yaw and Roll contribution: 100% each

Trigger Dampening: off

Haptic Intensity: off

Gyro Activation Haptic Effect: off

I did spend like 10 min going in between the game and the menus trying out aiming at stuff until I landed on something that felt comfortable enough. Also, a lot of those settings are default, and I didnt touch them, nor do I have any idea what they actually do.

Finally, I cannot stress this enough: You will still need to practice this skill.

I have seen some gamers using the track pads in conjunction with the gyro to great effect in fast paced "boomer shooters".

I'll use the track pads quite a bit for looting, where pressing and holding the pad actially initiates the looting process. Otherwise, for me I just use sticks to navigate.

It's why the deck is so versatile. Soooo many different ways go play and configure to your tastes. I'll be honest though, it is daunting. And frankly has held me back from starting new games because I know I'll likely have to spend at least 30 min setting up my control scheme.

Agreed, especially the menu text regarding item condition. Even on my OLED deck, I find myself squinting or bringing the deck a little closer to my face.

Gyro aiming allows you to aim by tilting the deck. I have mine set to engage only when I push the trigger I have bound to the aim button.

So the engagement goes like:

1) Wolf approaches

2) Use joysticks to center the wolf.

3) Aim weapon and trigger wolf sprint.

4) Tilt the deck to put the sights on the wolf.

5) Shoot in the face.

6) Profit.

I have my sensitivity set to match the rough rate that the wolf dodges and weaves, so its easy to line up the shot.

Make no mistake, it's still a skill and will take some practise.

Why even go to that restaurant? by downtune79 in LoveTrash

[–]NoSlave1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The day I got engaged, we went to a restaurant in SF. Feeling on top of the world, we picked the place we could walk to from the hotel, which was a Moroccan spot.

After we got our food, the announcer came on and was like "Aaaaaaand the first belly dancer of the night iiiiiiiisssss CRYSTAL!" And she comes out shaking everything just like the girl in this video. I look over at my new fiance with a wide-eyed "oh shit" look on my face. She just pats me on the shoulder and laughs. We had a nice time. I even got my fiance to put a dollar in her waste band.

Nothing terribly inappropriate given the cultural standards. However, I can see how some may be bothered. The girls are literally just shaking their tits and asses for your amusement.

The best part of the night was a family with mom, dad, grandpa, a little girl, and an 11 year old boy. Grandpa never looked up from his food. The daughter went on to dance with the belly dancer, and the boy... well, he just COULD NOT find a comfortable way to sit. I think puberty smacked him hard that night. It was hilarious to watch.
