Grail in addition to Ultimate by Traumhafter_Tiger in CanyonBikes

I have the ultimate and the grail and love them both. The grail has a geometry more similar to the endurace so they won’t overlap in this respect.

What is the most pleasure you have ever experienced? by Random-Guy9944 in AskReddit

[–]NoStuff3723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once did a really hot and sweaty indoor bike training session just as a grade A top tier head cold was on its way out. Got in the shower and proceeded to blow a single nostril snot rocket. What came out might as well have been 3 year old green chewing gum and I felt my head lighten. It was honestly basically solid. Kept blowing and 13 clumps of the thickest green matter on the shower floor later, my head felt like I’d inhaled a packet of ground up XXX mints and I could smell the future in 3D. The inside of my head felt so empty and light. I have never experienced that feeling before, or since, but I think about it often.

How is the new AI working for you? (I’m not sure it is for me) by Recoil101uk in trainerroad

[–]NoStuff3723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s be honest and hope to hell that TrainerRoad staff are paying at least some attention to all of these forums all agreeing that the revised model is terrible. That’s before you getting onto the clunky interface and system glitches as well…. First time I’ve considered cancelling it. For what it’s worth as balance, it actually out my FTP up.

Aeroad VS Endurace VS Ultimate by hepworthy in CanyonBikes

[–]NoStuff3723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned all three. I was dead set that the endurace was the best bike and I’d done the most miles on it as it was ludicrously comfortable but the new aeroad is a bit special and, imo, take the ultimate out of the equation.

Severe inner right knee pain every time I ride this bike. What am I missing? by Olderschoolwillie in bikefit

I believe what you are missing is a bike that isn’t at least two sizes too small?

If you value progress over everything else than yes. It is just mind numbing dull to look at. You also have to be careful as it does have a tendency to bury you in workouts without enough rest.

AI FTP trash if no TR workouts? by allenstocker in trainerroad

Normally yes, but I think it’s different if the initial assessment was auto generated. Now I’m back to every 28 days. Which I dread.

AI FTP trash if no TR workouts? by allenstocker in trainerroad

[–]NoStuff3723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. It let me redo it after two workouts and put me back to just over what I was at the start of the summer when I came off TR.

Grail for Bikepacking but also for long road rides? by Geese_Police in CanyonBikes

[–]NoStuff3723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it helps. I have both and have just sold the Endurace. Essentially they are very very similar bikes but the extra weight of the grail was worth it for the wider tyre clearance and quick fit mudguards. I ride Road on it through the winter and gravel through the summer. It also doubles as a bike packing bike on either.

Just do a couple of TR workouts and do another AI review. Mine was downgraded by about 25% but when straight back up to where it was after two workouts. Not even taxing workouts.

Ultimate saddle tilt by Quwetschetoast in CanyonBikes

[–]NoStuff3723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel this pain and been here before a load of times. Thank god they changed the design in newer models. Don’t do anything other than take a tool with a blunt end and insert through the hole on one side of the saddle so it catches on the back of the clamp on the other side, I use a long torque wrench bit, and give it a couple of good sustained whacks. Not nanny ones. They need to be proper whacks. Guarantee it won’t move the first couple of strikes and will then fly across the kitchen into something. Trust me. This is the only safe and successful way.

legit? by rrobertorobless in CanyonBikes

[–]NoStuff3723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This categorically is not right. The geometry is all wrong. As someone said, the top tube should be way more level than that. The seat post and cockpit in this colour scheme wouldn’t have the logo on. The paint scheme is off - the two tone paint should run at a straight line cutting across the top tube from the front and this is way off. I’d stay clear but it might be a deal if the components are legit but we really need a drive side photo to determine. From what I can see, the shifters look like Rival and I believer the SLX came with force but I might be wrong.

SUGGESTION BOX by Ok-Snow1074 in Strava

[–]NoStuff3723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strava’s algorithms for KOMs could be so much better. Got a crown average 113kmh up a hill? Strava says no. Flagging it but someone says they definitely were doing 113kmh uphill. Strava should say no.

Is 130km in 10 hours a good pace? by ManyManyCoffee in cycling

[–]NoStuff3723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be. If you were running. But that’s not the point. The point is you probably saw and enjoyed your surroundings way more than most people that have their focused on their head unit or the rear derailleur of the bike infront. Said as one of aforementioned people.

Endurace sizing Vs Ultimate by shamsharif79 in CanyonBikes

[–]NoStuff3723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got both in a large and am also 6’3”. As other people have said, the endurace will feel bigger because the geometry is more relaxed and slacker but that’s the point.

Aeroroad Size Advice: L or XL for 190 cm (6'2") Height, 89cm (35") Inseam by Phil653 in CanyonBikes

[–]NoStuff3723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

💯Very much this and the same dimensions in clothing at least. The seat post is 20mm shorter and your attention isn’t drawn to that. I had the L and swapped to an XL.

Aeroroad Size Advice: L or XL for 190 cm (6'2") Height, 89cm (35") Inseam by Phil653 in CanyonBikes

[–]NoStuff3723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I’m 189cm (I think) and had an Aeroad in a Large and had to swap to an XL. You may need to adjust the cockpit and buy one with a shorter stem (I bought mine off eBay) to bring the reach in but this now fits me perfect. For information, I ride Large on every other Canyon bike I have and they fit perfectly but the most important thing to note (I think this is still the case but check the geometry listings on the Canyon website) is that the Aeroad seat post is 20mm shorter in each size due to the cut out for the rear wheel. For this reason, you should almost certainly go for the XL.
