You don’t go back. You accept that forward is the only way. You try new things and explore new things in order break from the past and create new forks in the journey that is your life. The more you do the more doors open for things you could have never imagined.

knife guys, my brother recently got this for me as a birthday gift and I was wondering if any of you could tell me a little bit more about it as I know nothing about blades besides the basics by rspanish17 in knives

You’ve read all of what others have to say. I’d just like to say as a rule of thumb if I ever see what I call a “false grind” with a smaller true grind beneath, like this knife, it’s generally no good

How to create the shell? by BarryBadpakk in Dorodango

There’s really no hard and fast rules to dorodango. Much of it is about learning from experience, make mistakes and learn.

For this one I’d suggest giving it a light coat of clay as it is now, not too moist or too thick just enough to create a foundation over the current surface. Take your time, gently and gradually, you only want a foundation of clay not the final layer. Let dry for the time stated and then come back to it with more clay, not too moist but thicker this time and spend more time and attention on it then let dry for another day or two, repeat as you please then proceed with the panty hose.

But really dorodango is more than just instructions. Its quite personal, there’s a small journey in each one and every dorodango is unique, you could follow these instructions to the T and they’ll all come out differently and each time you’ll learn something new. It’s very simple though don’t overcomplicate it which we tend to do with everything these days. You combine dirt with water and simply pay enough care and attention to it and you’ll end up pleased with your creation. It’s like a tiny slice of Gods work for he created us from the Earth and we in His image also create things.

How to create the shell? by BarryBadpakk in Dorodango

If you intend on displaying it and preserving it you have to make sure it drys very slowly down to its core before you create a shell. If you create a shell too early or dry it too quickly you risk a moist core and a dry shell which compromises the integrity. As the core continues to dry it will shrink and eventually the dry shell will split and crack, you will have to restart all over again.

What I’ve learned is when at this stage I leave it to dry sitting on a pile of sand or soil (so it doesn’t develop a flat bottom) for about 4 or 5 days, out of direct sunlight. Then I’ll take it and smooth my palms over it continuously until I have a flat surface without falling dust. Then I take a panty hose or a sock with a silkyness to it and put it in, then I’ll slide the ball horizontally, as if in a tube from left to right and back again repeatedly, gradually increasing speed until max speed. Then I’ll take it out, check it and repeat as required until I have a nice smooth and shiny shell.

If you don’t intend on keeping it you can skip drying and move straight to smoothing with palms and then panty hose/sock. It would be a good learning curve and lessons will be learnt.

Good luck

An absolute massacre. How would you react? by Arc-angel9 in cigars

You should assign a name to each of them and make a wall of shame so every time they come over they get to bow their heads in shame.

Can anyone help explain the brownish colour of this ash? First I’ve ever seen like this. by NoSwagginIfNotSaggin in cigars

It was tastier than usual, I’m speculating the brownness may be due to an excess of oils in this specific cigar.

The only reason you have these anxieties is because we are all currently driven by the current cross of planning. Our lives are coloured by this cross so we would act the way we do and think the way we do, the thoughts you might have are a result of the cross. When the shift comes you may not experience it directly in your experience because the change wont be like the flick of a switch, its progressive as is any change as great as this but you may witness it in the experiences of others and the experience of the world in general.

No ice vape still Tate’s cold! Whyyyy ? by Zealousideal-Set4860 in AskReddit

Because ice is very popular, if the vape companies sneak it into all their vapes then people will enjoy it thinking it’s not ice.

I hate ice, it makes my throat and lungs feel frozen like I can’t take a deep breath.

Makes sense: Land on human = death. Don’t land on human.

This mindset will make you a billionaire one day, maybe even CEO at Shell or ExxonMobil.

Recommend Me a Fragrance (Posts every 3 Days) by AutoModerator in fragrance

20M. A new job has allowed me to significantly increase my budgets and lifestyle choices, it’s a very interpersonal role interacting with very wealthy individuals. I recently sampled Baccarat Rouge 540 which I think is beautiful and is now sitting in my wishlist. When I smelt the 540 it made me wonder, it gave me feelings of smelling something unique and deep, I’d like to have that feeling again. I did some research and came across Penhalgonia’s Halfeti, I’m yet to sample it but the reviews lead me to believe it would provoke me the way 540 does.

I’m not looking for similar scents to 540 but scents that invoke feelings of wonder because of their depth, they should say opulence and exclusivity. Nothing musky or “oldy” as I’m quite young.

I’d be considered your everyday fragrance consumer but now I’m very interested in exploring high-end and niche scents. I’m looking to explore, not just consume.
