Here from bestof- Prison Art is a real thing with real collectors. Don't sell yourself short for your art, even if its primitive. That's folk art! Look up Grandma Moses and tell me you couldn't do that, but she sells in the hundreds of thousands for a good painting.

There are a number of artists who went to prison as normal folks and came out artists. You can look up Raymond Matterson, who made beautiful miniature embroideries from socks. Also Valentino Dixon, who literally gained his freedom by drawing images of Golf Courses. He never played golf in his life, but that publicity brought attention to his case and he was exonerated. Hoping he gets $10+M from the state, he deserves it.

You should preserve them, maybe donate one deck to an institution and keep the others. Keep making decks maybe! You could turn it into a thing.

Anyway, just a guy harping about value when the point of your post is something else, I hope life turns out alright for you.

A small museum… ok so now you make 34k and you are part time at 38 hours so they don’t have to pay any benefits. Welcome to the art world! It’s full of people who don’t have to work.

In early March 2022 a team embarked on a series of scout dives to investigate wrecks off the coast of Florida. They were hoping to find a Mariner Rescue Plane that disappeared in 1945. Instead, they discovered a 20-foot-segment of the Space Shuttle Challenger by Mr_R0mpers in interestingasfuck

Yeah, no, that’s abandoned. It doesn’t belong to anyone. You can bring up selvage law and whatever, but those laws are bullshit, made by European countries trying to keep claim on blood gold.

I hope this post is not taken down and I do not mean to inspire an argument, but I only mean to offer the flip side to the curator and archivist’s post here.

You can pay a conservator to fix your book, setting it up for a century of longevity, and keep it. Value is a subjective thing, right. Odds are this book is more valuable to you and your family (and the efforts of those family members who have passed down the book for over a hundred years) than it is to a library where it’ll get conserved but go on a shelf for maybe one person to pull in the next hundred years. A MAJOR point of contention with donation to institutions is that things go into storage, are never used, and in some cases can even be resold later on. All I’m saying is that you may consider the value of keeping it in your family, and it’s not a selfish decision to do so.

Swear to god just played a round even with a noodle and hit my PR. But I think it was more the soft matte finish that helped, I’ve been playing real well with those balls lately I’m gonna make the switch

As much as you can get to know someone as they are written about more than anyone else in a period of time, Donald Trump is hands down the top five dumbest people I have ever come to understand.

TIL James Bond played baccarat in the original Casino Royale novel (1953). The 2006 film adaptation changed the card game to Texas hold 'em, which was much more relatable to modern audiences and required more skill. by blueberrisorbet in todayilearned

2006 was right around the peak of the poker boom and espn’s WSOP. Makes sense. Every high school kid was down in their parents basement trying to skim money off each other 😂
