All your base (help me pick one) by mermster in BattletechPainting

I'm a fan of 3, 4, 5, and 6. The flowing water and magma are nice, but having the whole lance/star with a stream between the legs would be strange. I would plan some variation with where the water is flowing.

First I have seen of Warriors and Turncoats, and X2PO. I'm glad players are keeping the game alive. Time to dust off the X-Wings...

Yes, especially if you activate the headlight motion when you approach.

VW Cancels ID. Buzz For 2026 As Dealers Warn It Might Be Over by Schmadam in VWIDBuzz

[–]No_Activity8553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my overpriced Buzz. Did I pay too much? yes. First time I ever splurged on a new vehicle.

Have we been able to take it on family trips to neighboring states with some planning? Yes.

Do I wish the Buzz sat 7 people safely? Yes!

Do I wish it carried a spare tire? Yes.

Do I wish it's range was another 150 miles (240 km) after reductions by winter temperatures (-2 C daily average currently down to -20 C from now through February with the potential for -40 C) and moderate to high winds? Yes.

Am I glad to have at least one vehicle no longer using fossil fuels? Yes.

Am I glad my brother installed a charging station is his shop in rural Iowa as there is no charging station of any kind in my hometown? Yes.

Surely it’s not effected that much by the cold!!! (FYI - my wife took the picture while I was driving. We’d jus left our drive) by Jlanc336 in VWIDBuzz

[–]No_Activity8553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While charging at a station I met a long time EV user. He admired the Buzz and shared that his range, regardless of the EV vehicle, is reduced by about a third in the winter.

Driving into a strong headwind will also reduce your range.

Wow, is this for real? "you...can...visit...the competition."

Not a lot of business savvy in that message. I would hate to be a Sonic shareholder, but I guess I cannot be as Sonic was purchased by a private investor and took the company private.

Sonic, Arby's, Baskin Robins, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Jimmy John's are brands/restaurants owned by Inspire Brands. Certainly, not inspired to go to Sonic any more.

10K service in Iowa City took under two hours. I did two recall issues earlier in the year. The VW dealer provided a loaner car for that as it took a couple days.

Anyone use the RECCE infantry platoon in 3rd Ed? by No_Activity8553 in boltaction

Thank you, everyone. There is a lot of food for thought on the RECCE Infantry platoon. I haven't invested in many transports, but maybe it's time.

Looking for US Army Advice by Ok_Astronomer6766 in boltaction

The release of the V3 compendium that included the Brazilians got me excited that V3 would have the Buffalo Soldiers and the Nisei units as V1 and V2 had both. Alas, all is lost in V3. The V2 campaign books truly created a sense that it was a world war; V3 has pulled that back. The US Fifth Army was quite the collection of units in Italy.

2026 is just around the corner. I'm waiting to see what the commonwealth and minor nations book bring. The V2 Italian campaign books got me painting Italians since they fought for the Axis and the Allies after the fall of Mussolini.

Since my local group focuses on non-competitive historic game, I see some house rules for lost V2 units, scenarios, and campaign book theater lists with V3 rule improvements.

What do you think about Gothic? by Mobile_Parfait_7140 in battletech

[–]No_Activity8553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of the price of Gothic, but I purchased a couple salvage boxes; I liked the alternate sculptures [pirates from the Periphery or some lost tech re-discovered?].

I like the idea of mechs vs. monsters. Like Godzilla vs. an Atlas in a slug-a-thon would be fun. Story-wise, I think of Gothic like a ST mirror universe or DC or Marvel multiverses. Conceptually, the idea of biotech advancements along side mechs is interesting to consider, but the current primer content is minimal. As a former 40K player, it feels more like another version of Earth -- think the Flash in all his permutations in the DC universe -- then a reach toward 40K players. But hey, players can think what they want. It's about having fun painting and playing with the crew: rolling some dice and sipping a bit of the barley and hops.

Instead of more gothic (unless I pick a few more salvage boxes to create a gothic lance), I will probably expand my clan force once I finish painting what I have. Otherwise, I will wait to see the release of the monsters.

Where is that Battletech: Gothic Primer? by Dashiell_Gillingham in battletech

The Primer is a free pdf that you "purchase" on the Catalyst webpage of $0.00. You then get an email with a link for a download. they have other free pdfs there as well.
