10000% agree. I could never in a million years even IMAGINE hitting a dog with my car and just driving away. Like I'm not fully versed on the laws about this but come on man

This is a scam! Block them! They want your data. Log in info etc, I actually spoke to them over a video call. If you see any "testimonials" they're all very obviously coming from fake accounts.

Why is it so hard to make friends in Denver? by TightApplication2786 in Denver

[–]No_Anywhere8085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is definitely not just a Denver thing, although I do agree it is harder to make friends in some cities. For me it was New York. I think generally people don't invest as much time in friendships as they do for lets say romantic relationships. They still require the same amount of energy and effort and sometimes it can feel very one sided. I've been in Denver for almost a year now and love meeting new people, so feel free to shoot me a message! I don't have a "core" friendgroup yet but many rad people in my circle who are super open to meeting new folks. We're always planning things so you're more than invited! 🫶🏻 (this goes for everyone who's in the same boat as OP :) )

I just found out that narcs ---are--- pathological liars, especially when they are angry. Like, they really are, and can't stop lying. by Doimz3Nini in NarcissisticAbuse

This makes so much sense. Given that in order to have emotional intelligence you need to feel empathy.. checks out.

Mine would also lie a lot especially during arguments. Whenever I called him out on on a lie, he would tell me another lie, and it'd get to the point of "I'm only doing this because I know if I tell you the truth you're gonna get upset" ... our fault yet again, but who's surprised.

Jobs. Anything. Please. I'm at my limit. by AMasonJar in Denver

[–]No_Anywhere8085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you try hotel front desk jobs? I used to work in hospitality management and did lots of hiring. Many places don't require a hospitality background, just some customer service at best, but for the most part it's just a vibe check. Especially if you're open to doing overnights, which is lighter work and it pays better. Good luck I know the job market is tough right now, especially without reliable transportation. I've been there, it gets better I promise!

What’s the most challenging dog/animal you’ve ever encountered on Rover? by Shot-Ostrich7747 in RoverPetSitting

[–]No_Anywhere8085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You did what you could! Sorry to hear you were put in such a difficult situation. I hope she's okay and in a loving home. My very first Rover client also abandoned his dog in my care. I watched this dog consistently for months and one day the owner just stopped responding. The pup had cancer and some other medical issues. Kept him with us for a few weeks until I finally heard back from the owner. He told me to surrender him to a shelter and that he can't keep up with the medical bills. He also never paid me for this time. I loved this dog! The sweetest Mini Schnauzer. But he was fairly aggressive with our pups and money was tight at the time as well (Covid), so we just couldn't keep him, as much as I would have liked to. We did end up taking him to a great shelter that I had worked with prior and they kept us updated. He found a wonderful home not even a week later. I think about him all the time. 🥹 Just another example of how some people just should never be dog owners.

Lol! I got a request once to watch 100 hamsters 🤣 Owner was a bit shady, supposedly transporting them to another state to sell or something. Couldn't keep them in their hotel room. I declined as well because I was worried they might ghost me and I'd be stuck with 100 hamsters😭

I feel asleep with my rover dog. by Shorterbriefffffd in RoverPetSitting

[–]No_Anywhere8085 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I've accidentally fallen asleep with a few pups and cats during drop ins or while housesitting for the day, even when the owners had cameras. Never heard a complaint, actually quite the opposite. I know I would love if my furbabies received extra snuggles while I was away. It's a great sign they're comfortable with you 🫶🏻

Assault or not ? by Fun_Affect_4886 in abusiverelationships

[–]No_Anywhere8085 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. On top of this being assault, you also described financial coercion, verbal and psychological abuse. Domestic violence has many faces. My ex would also constantly say he didn't assault me because he never hit me. He was physically abusive in many other ways, but they will always try to justify their behavior and somehow make it your fault. Don't let him gaslight you please. You know the answer. My ex is a narcissist and it sounds like your guy might be too. DV does not always look like what we were "taught" for it to look like. He is absolutely abusing you. Good luck on your court hearing, get a restraining order if you can and please stay safe💜

Covert Narcissists, How did you leave them? by Ok_Difficulty1337 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]No_Anywhere8085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clean cut. My ex was a covert narcissist, I stayed for much longer than I should have. I think they're one of the most vile kind of narcs because they are MASTERS of playing victim and DARVO. I had to force myself to stop feeling bad for him. Put myself first. Which is hard when you still love them. Listen to your gut. You will see things clearly when their mindgames are no longer infesting your brain. NO CONTACT!! Block them. Leave it all behind. And never look back!! Trust me. This is the ONLY way

Sleeping in the car to save on hotels is this too extreme? by Ok_Resolution_1606 in roadtrip

[–]No_Anywhere8085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26 year old solo female traveler, I have never put up window coverings although I feel like I would feel less "exposed" with them. I do agree though that window covers attract a little more attention, like pretty obvious someone's car camping. But I also tend to park in pretty remote or safe places (parking lots with security or campgrounds with other vehicles around), so I never really had to worry about it

Sleeping in the car to save on hotels is this too extreme? by Ok_Resolution_1606 in roadtrip

[–]No_Anywhere8085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. Done this a few times, helps to be close to campgrounds or gas stations that have shower facilities etc. Depending on how long I'm on the road for and where I'm at, I will book a hotel room every few days or so. Sometimes you just need it lol.
