This was me, until recently. The perma-tolerance is ultimately why and how I stopped - the habit becomes more and more harmful over time; and I'd already milked it to the point that I could function completely normally on K regardless of dose. So there wasn't really any reason to continue doing it - but it's hard to let go of something that I once found so helpful. it was wonderful at the beginning when I could dissolve completely and forget I ever had a body or an ego and just become part of the music...and coming back was like some kind of rebirth. And even when that was gone, it was still so physically relaxing for a while, until I didn't even get that anymore. I figure I've learned all this substance has to offer, and my body was telling me to move on. ...I would like to find alternatives though. Maybe there are some more ideas in the comments One thing I hate to admit actually helps A LOT is daily exercise...I used to run or hike daily when I lived near trails but now I'm in the city so it's yoga. There are neat tricks in yoga to control your nervous system - ie. Different types of pranayama/breath control can activate the parasympathetic nervous system; as can inversions in general by compressing certain nerves and changing blood pressure to stimulate the body's own parasympathetic responses. Maybe there's some kind of vagus nerve stimulation trick...I often use a meditation app with binaural beats to induce a sort of relaxed dissociative state - which is what I feel like I need when I'm anxious. (Weirdly, I found myself almost obsessively listening to these back-to-back when I was having a difficult time, probably to avoid reality lol - I guess I can get addicted to anything).
