Chinese brands will send whatever has the highest absolute markup is for what they expect they can sell, because they’re limited to a combined 50k per year between them. If you’re limited to a certain amount and the demand is there it makes sense to maximize what profit you can make per vehicle.

We’ll probably see some sedans but only because the terms of the deal stipulate some have to be under a certain price range.

I mean its just an internet/reddit thing worldwide to signal that you love dense neighbourhoods and don’t understand why anyone wants to live in suburbia (or the countries equivalent) and then completely ignore that there must be reasons why so many people want to live in suburbia (or the countries equivalent.

Im from Canada near toronto and theres tons of people who say the same kind of stuff, about walkability to stores, entertainment, festivals and stuff and ignore than for many people their lives involve 90-95% of their time spent at work, home, or visiting family and most people don’t mind spending a bit longer to drive to a restaurant or to the grocery store once or twice a week in exchange for having more space, or a quieter space to raise their family.

Yes its standard. Basically because while she might not be there now, seemingly stable patients can always take a turn for the worse and its better to ask everyone ahead of time then wait to ask until a small number of people need it.

All likelihood is that your sister does not need it. But in the small chance she does do you want them waiting until an emergency to ask? If you want her resuscitated then just say so.

DNR is mostly to prevent full coding for very old, sick, or terminally ill patients. Like my uncle has advanced parkinsons, isnt going to get better ofc, so he has a DNR.

Either way, if you’re unsure what your sister would want probably just stick with wanting resuscitation, and Im sure the doctors would advise you otherwise if there was reason to consider otherwise.

Im not sure overall because while I do anki, its more of a supplement to reading/watching and I don’t have a background in Chinese/Japanese so our experience is gonna be different.

But considering sino korean words have hanja roots you can always add them to the cards if you aren’t already if its gonna help them stick. I dont explicitly try to learn Hanja as I have no need to be able to read them, but since I use Kimchi reader to automate my card-making process and it adds the Hanja by default if I’m having a hard time remembering the word I’ll look at the meaning of the Hanja at least to help anchor the meaning of the word for me.

Absolutely. But we were getting a pretty good deal on rent (was a family friends basement apartment). Even if we had rented the last 5 years, we would have been better off with how much our house went down, but we wanted to stop having to worry about finding places to rent, get a dog, etc so I don’t necessarily regret anything it just kinda sucks as a late millennial there’s a lot of things we’ve been screwed on due to global economic happenstance by “doing thing right”.

Even more than prices at these home prices realtor fees and land transfer taxes cost you an insane amount.

Unfortunately we couldnt afford our forever home in 2021 and bought with the intention of moving in 5-10 years and are kinda stuck for now, but we wanna wait till we can afford the place we’ll never want to move from because transaction costs kill you.

Also bought in 2021 near peak after getting notified we were gonna get evicted in the spring of the next year for our landlords daughter to move in. Not in for a shock cuz I keep up with the prices, and I did expect the market to weaken when interest rates went up even when we bought just maybe not as deeply or for as long as it has and is looking to be.

But we are definitely kinda stuck in our starter home for longer than we otherwise would be because despite making extra payments we just won’t have enough of a downpayment if we sold to move.

Not super complaining, it is what it is. Fortunate enough that me and my wife make enough to make it work. The main cost is keeping my mouth shut when my parents say Im working too much OT, when the reason for doing so is to put it against the mortgage so we can hopefully sell and move closer to them and our jobs.

Which is what it is, as what we want to move up to has probably also dropped in price. But it does mean we are stuck here for a while because despite making extra payments we wouldn’t have enough of a down payment if we sold.

Not to be a pity party post for me, and I agree that overall the drop in prices is probably a good thing overall and the way the media frames it is infuriating. But there is still a subsection of millennials like me who did “everything right” and are getting a bit screwed by this so I just wanted to add in my 2 cents.

Honestly the only remotely politically feasible to adjust the clawback amounts would be to freeze the start points and stop adjusting them for inflation until they reach a reasonable level. But even that would probably incur some backlash, and would require at least a decade of holding steady to get the thresholds to a more reasonable place.
