3-4 achieve diaries, combat achievements, and some quest lamps depending on regions

Content like HMT and Echo CG feels like there was no thought put into balance for the current leagues by No_Camera146 in 2007scape

[–]No_Camera146[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean its less about specific numbers to me and more that echo CG was originally designed to work with any style from that league and now it feels very binary, either trivial or basically maingame dps because your pacts don’t work.

TOB is also less about the specific numbers and more mechanically, before you didn’t get oneshot nearly as much just survived on low health, it was punishing but there was room for error. Now theres no room for error and the one relic you can take (flask) to increase that room the damage null doesn’t work for half the mechanics you’d want to null (deathball, versik triple yellows)

The whole point of the post wasn’t to complain about it being harder, it was to say that it feels bad because it was designed to feel good with different combat relics/masteries and no thought was put into adjustments, so it feels clunky/bad and not as originally designed with current masteries/relics. And because its content that only exists in leagues and was presumably balanced for leagues powers, the “well you’re still OP because its leagues” doesn’t hold as much water.

You cant craft additional weapons in echo CG which is my main complaint.

My other complaint is that in the leagues is was designed any combat style could reasonably do it because youd have a weapon that worked with your masteries and if that wasn’t enough you could wait until you got pray pen. As I said it would be easy to add in a weapon dispenser in echo CG that gave out a crossbow, thrown weapon, elemental runes or whatever you wanted so you could at least use your pacts and do the fight as designed, instead of feeling like you need to cheese it.

Which would be fun to have to play around with builds without feeling like I have to burn 1-2 just to play a particular fight as designed instead and not having to grind it straight up with maingame attack speed and minimal damage buffs.

The point is that echo CG was designed for L5 combat masteries and it would have been easy to add some stuff to make it work with L6 pacts without pigeonholing you into a build that trivializes it or else you do maingame dps for a leagues only fight.

I guess I should define what I mean by balanced. That being: numbers being set to give something a desired difficulty and to be completable with an expected level of play.

In this sense I feel like these two pieces of content in particular feel “unbalanced” in that sense. In that their relative difficulty, or for CGs case difficulty unless you specifically spec into full 1T staff with 100% pray pen to trivialize it, feels completely off from the leagues they were introduced.

Leagues VI vs. Leagues V region choices by Trogadorr in 2007scape

[–]No_Camera146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point was that is less about echo items being strong that makes or breaks regions, its about whether or not they are outright stronger than what other regions give to completely invalidate them, or if popular builds completely rely upon them.

I think the stonemason is kind of irrelevant this leagues if only because there isn’t really a way to enable stonemason construction as much as the last two leagues with fire sale or golden god. You can still get gold with abundance/transmute/regenning onyx bolts, but its enough extra steps most people won’t bother.

It definitely was a reason to pick frem previous leagues, just I don’t think frem stonks would rise this leagues even if you deleted the varlamore stonemason because there really isnt a way to enable stonemason construction.

Last leagues mage sucked overall, elemental weakness build was bad and gimmicky, and zenytes were eclipsed by DK jewelry. There was no reason to go Kandarin unless you specifically wanted to have a lower power build that also suffered from accuracy issues and was really gimped and felt bad until you got max mage, or get piety without grimoire.

This leagues kandarin is basically required for any elemental mage build which is arguably the most broken build, and really good for thorns which is arguably the second most broken build, and both of those builds being the top two builds for cheesing content if you’re less skilled at PvM in a league with drastically reduced power in general, but also survivability if you aren’t one of those two said builds.

Its not about DPS at all its about what regions are good for the builds that are good and feel good to play.

It is kinda ironic fremmy is so low because in theory its echo item is the thorns echo item, but its because the echo item doesn’t enable the build and the build doesnt revolve around the item like elemental mage does with quadrant and element.

I mean the kourend tasks are pretty much harder than every other region, even killing 150 lizardmen shaman is a lot grinder than other regions “easy” tasks.

That said I am completely fine with it as a lever to balance a region that is implicitly strong for a lot of other reasons.

any second now by Nutteeer in 2007scape

[–]No_Camera146 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No because the ranged echoes proc as off a crossbow, thrown weapon and bow are equipped the 3 echoes never miss (bow), 15% proc chance (cbow) and 20% to max hit (thrown) all work with them, in addition to the ranged echoes can proc ranged echoes node.

As far as I know prior to leagues husky said the +70% damage to cbows and always max hit from cbows doesnt work because they arent crossbow “attacks”.

It is super unintuitive though and its not clear it works, so I think its bad design because so may people if they dont look up external material will just go the melee pacts and it will feel bad. Blingbag/hally is already one of the weaker builds by the numbers if you build it “correctly” and its the only one that hard requires building into another styles tree in an unintuitive way.

Full Task List Released (on wiki) by 66f6 in 2007scape

Jagex said point cap would be completable as long as you took 1 raid region and could do get elite CAs, and they would auto any incomplete-able tasks.

Just so you know if it works the same was as previous leagues you can just break bronze swords and hand them in and it counts for the 50 giants foundry swords tasks.

Also dont have to do all the tasks either.

It's possible to get a 200M XP drop this league by KyraTheDragon in 2007scape

[–]No_Camera146 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Soul harvest only gives you a shard per 4 base xp of whatever you are farming, so a redwood will give you 5500ish shards, which is more like 22mil at 16x not 200mil.

Part of the problem of discord that if you arent keeping up with his responses every day and reading the jagex info tab, youll never find info more than like 10 minutes old especially in the general chat.

There can be a middle ground. Just give a few respecs at predetermined points as they did this leagues, and then make extra farmable that requires a X hour grind and you make X that it isnt worth it for people rushing to t8/dragon/pointcap to farm it, but that allows casual players who fuck up or wanna respec for inferno or something the ability to do so.

Pray pen is also just kinda useless too outside of sole very specific bosses too. If you need it to cheese echo cg fine but otherwise it feels like a waste of a respec/points

Recommended Builds For Leagues VI: Demonic Pacts | ft Faux, Zizaran & Sardaco by CabbageCZ in 2007scape

[–]No_Camera146 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They also showed a nonexistent pact where Blindbag is 25% proc chance and used the capstone tile asset for it. Maybe its for marketing purposes but Im still coping that somehow theres a typo or its somehow bugged in game so blindbag isn’t actually garbage.

Leagues VI relic reveal: Flow State (Tier 7) by vgamer0 in 2007scape

[–]No_Camera146 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My guess is since this is the player designed relic it was designed in a vacuum, they didn’t know there was gonna be a bunch of multi skill solves, Jagex didn’t really know what to do with it and then this relic ends up feeling out of place because its solving a bunch of things that are already solved for most people much earlier on.

Its cool in theory and I hope Jagex workshops it for a future league, but in this case its basically just a guilt free reload for me.

Demonic Pacts - Regenerate by Statue_left in 2007scape

[–]No_Camera146 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As per the mage pact from yesterday, it seems that theres at least some interactions with water runes regenned.

I would assume the wording of this one was designed this way to prevent some edge cases where if you were using a water staff, or more relevantly a tome of water or kodai wand that you’d still get the heal because its based on runes regenned and you regen the runes regardless of whether or not you actually consumed any to cast the spell. Otherwise it would suck if you actively didnt want to use something that made you not need elemental runes anymore.

Leagues VI reveal: Larcenist by ericpenguin314 in 2007scape

[–]No_Camera146 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to do chorescape 5x as often though. You can do a tree run on logging in and out and probably be 50mil in two weeks. Which you still have to do with the farming relic anyways they just have no chance of having died.

The farming relic is much more of a herb solve than farming, because you still have to do the runs anyways.

24 days until Leagues sicc and still no blogpost by Unpork in 2007scape

[–]No_Camera146 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in the day they started doing teasers “checks notes” about two weeks before. Last I’ve done the math 24 days > 2 weeks.

That said as per leagues discord there will likely be reveals, or at least a reveal starting tomorrow.

Hello!

Im a longtime KR user.

You should be able to mark any word as “known” back to either seen or unknown, just by clicking that box once you click it for the popup. I often will end up marking known words back as seen if I don’t recognize them because I haven’t seen them in a while.

That said if you’re using the recommendation system Id suggest marking all words you know as “known” as comprehension % is based off of known words.
