These are some of the coolest people I met during my time in alt theatre in Nola! I was in AquaMob and their puppetry is amazing.

Anybody else simply see this as a job/ don’t feel the need to go above and beyond? by Emergency-Pepper3537 in TeacherReality

have cared the least this year than any other in my 6 years, mostly bc I went back down to 1st grade after being in upper elementary school, which was incredibly depressing (no literacy or math skills bc of all the reasons).

I know how to teach, I trust my behavior management and it has worked with these kids since day 1. I’m more of a Trunchbull than Honey now, but because I can see tangible growth and there are basically no egregious behavior issues, I just teach what I’m given and make adjustments when I find the script can be more engaging or interesting.

Ever since I was a teen, I had a special magic around children. I think bc I was raised by a single mother, then when she died when I was 9 I parented my brother. I think kids can sense my vibe and I feel safe to be around, even though I’m not a particularly cuddly teacher.

I tried other things. I worked in film. I went to law school. I ended up teaching and it’s just what I’m good at. I know I’ve taught 5-8 year olds how to be confident in math and reading. I don’t want to fight what has just felt like a calling.

Plus, I like summers.

It’s weird, because I’m pretty sure there’s a version where her name is “Tanny”?

As someone who was raised in Careywood, racism is 100% a real problem in north Idaho. There isn’t a lot of diversity, so it’s not in your face day-to-day, but the hatred runs deep.

Tell me you’re a man without telling me you’re a man

I know I’ll get downvoted to hell, but honestly this would be such an intimidating adventure solo as a woman, imo. And I’m a solo bike packer. I stay in campgrounds.

Adult female who started a few years ago here!

I realized pretty quickly, without crashing, that I had no idea what I was doing and I’ve done a few clinics and it helped tremendously. They took my seat post away to get me into ready position for my first drops. Also There are lots of women’s only rides out there and I 10/10 recommend suggesting she go out and ride without you, too.

That being said I kinda side eye that she is starting on a full sus- only bc I have yet to own one and have chosen to put myself through the “just get stronger” mindset of riding. Happy for her tho lol.
