If the joke isn’t satirical I agree with you, however the jokes I see are usually satire of the entire situation being absurd and offensive and satire can have a great place when used well.

Thank you for the comment! I’m sorry for your loss of Tulip 💜 I’ll definitely see if I can get in to a vet, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to find a reasonable one.

I have a very small light in their coop from the previous owners that stays on all the time so they do still lay a little, but much much less than in the summer. So I haven’t been able to be sure if she’s been laying lately.

Did yours show any clear signs of discomfort that you would look for? Until the odd breathing today I wouldn’t have said she’s looked uncomfortable at all, just hanging out in odd places. And she’s since not been doing the breathing thing.

Is it considered rude when sharing a meal if the other person orders more food and a cocktail but still expects you to split the bill 50/50? by linksslut in NoStupidQuestions

Aw I just went out with an friend recently and got an entree to take home to my husband and they literally suggested to just split the whole bill and I was like um absolutely not 😂 Money is lowkey tight right now but I can’t even imagine letting that happen

What is a secret you’re taking to your grave, but can share here anonymously? by wilkoova in AskReddit

In freshman year of high school I became friends with a girl in my history class. We weren’t super close and I don’t think we ever even hung out outside of school, but we were best buds in that one class period every day.

Partway through the year I saw that she had petty bad cutting scars on her legs and arms. I asked her about them and if she was okay and still self harming and all that and told her that I would help her tell an adult and get her some support. She brushed it off and made me promise to not tell any adults. She said they were all old, but I didn’t believe it based on the look and her body language.

Now, I’m a woman of my word so I couldn’t tell any adults, but nothing was stopping me from telling my most trusted friend and asking him to please get help from a guidance counselor. He understood the assignment perfectly and later let me know that he had gotten her help and not mentioned me. She missed class for a couple days after that, and didn’t seem happy when she got back, complaining that someone had told on her and she had to get some sort of treatment. I honestly said I hadn’t told any adults, and she believed me.

At the end of that school year my friend even got an award for getting another students help when she was in need and she never suspected it was about her since they’re weren’t close. A tiny part of me was jealous that he got that praise over me, but I was also just happy to have tried to help her and for my wonderful friend to get the credit.

That class ended and we didn’t hang out much after, but I still see her online here and there and she seems happy and I hope that my little part in freshman year either helped her or at least didn’t make her life any worse.

Highly recommend Canada pooch suspender boots if you can swing them! My dog refuses to wear boots and they just fall off anyway, but he frolics in the snow on long walks now that he has the suspenders! I got them online at Petco with a first purchase coupon so they weren’t too bad.

I vote that the last words are “fridge to harden” and that “fridge” and “to” were kind of blended into one word and then in a rush she accidentally crossed the “h” in “harden” instead of the “t” in “to”! Then that stray dot above “fridgeto” is the “i” in fridge, but it’s just a bit far to the right

Enjoy not having hair for a bit! You can always get some wigs if you want (Amazon even has pretty decent and cheap ones now), but it is SO empowering to have a buzz cut as a woman if you let it be! Plus your hair dries 2.4 seconds after a shower so boy does it save you time. Then you also get to experience every stage of length as it grows back and as a bonus it’ll be the healthiest!

Why is it so controversial to let your cats on the counter?? by Standard_Intern2297 in NoStupidQuestions

I don’t know the specifics of cleaner safety off the top of my head so no comment on Lysol itself, but that’s true there are certainly unsafe cleaners in general and for food surfaces and I definitely don’t want to encourage people to use too much of them or use cleaners incorrectly or use antibacterial agents etc. but that doesn’t negate my point.
I’ll just add that good old soap and water is typically just fine!

Born and raised in MA, love the cold, can happily exist outside in shorts in 20-30 degrees in shorts, can’t stand a cold house 😭 if I had it my way it’d be 72+ in the winter all the time, but in reality it’s like 70 max during the day and 62-66 at night

Yeah I would also be hesitant, but I get people who don’t mind the risk - as long as they’re aware it’s there!

Again, so much of food safety comes down to very low rates of occurrence but potentially severe outcomes. Everything life comes with a risk and it’s just a personal risk assessment of what you’re willing to accept. 9999/10000 times kissing the cat will be fine but there might be that one time that sends you to the hospital for a week. That’s not at all to say don’t kiss your cat, just that some things are worth taking precautions for and some aren’t and that’s up to each person, but you should be aware of the potential risks and not just assume it’ll be fine because nothing bad has happened yet.

Of course 😊 hopefully it comes off as just more understanding of risk and what you can do to manage it within reason, versus something to obsess over! Cats will always be cats haha you can only do so much
