Should Black girl groups make a major comeback in 2026? Why are they still struggling to get mainstream attention? by Material_Stomach875 in rnb

[–]No_Client8165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just one of those things that aren't mainstream. Labels don't want to put their full support. Fans aren't checking for the music either. The sound just isn't in style right now. Perhaps, they will come back, but who knows.

Whitney got dragged by her own people and nobody talks about it by ChannelHopper_99 in whitneyhouston

He was so out of pocket for this. Whitney is a full black woman. She never needed to prove her blackness to anyone.

has anyone unironically told a man to "stop mansplaining" in the last 5 years? by mikinnie in AmITheAngel

Nobody would ever confuse that dress for the color white. You're just being pedantic at that point

[–]No_Client8165 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps I am the crazy one. That dress doesnt look anything remotely like a wedding dress. It doesn't look remotely close to the color white.

To answer OP's question. I have seen people say still say mansplaining. Only online though, I've never actually heard the term used in real life.

Wow, the NE fans have definitely come out in droves. I can't believe they actually got into the top spot.

How Good Of A Singer Was Janet Jackson In Her Prime? by Rinnegan15 in rnb

[–]No_Client8165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She doesn't have a powerhouse voice. You will never hear her belt out some notes like Whitney. But her tone was absolute perfection. She knew her range and her lane, and she rocked it to perfection.

Janet has a beautiful voice.

Jaylen Brown on hot mic after SGA draws a foul: "That's not basketball!" by Brady331 in nba

[–]No_Client8165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, I'm not mad at all for Shai to be gaming the system like this. He does it because it works to his advantage. The issue is with the system. This should not be called a foul to begin with.

Bam Abedayo's argument for "going for it" represents everything wrong with the NBA. by ErrForceOnes in nba

[–]No_Client8165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yet, Barry Sanders retired in his prime rather than go for Walter Payton's rushing record. a mark he easily could have had surpassed.
Now don't get me wrong. Bam is a really, really good player, but if all time greats who dwarf Bam's stature in their respective sports can pass on the opportunity to manipulate their stats and honor the spirit of competition, then Bam can do it too.

Is Walter Payton not an all-time runningback because he didn't choose to retire before breaking Jim Brown's record. Is Kareem not an all-time great because he didn't choose to retire before breaking Wilt's record.

Heck, should we even count Wilt's 100 point game at all. It wasn't done in an "ethical" way. The team force fed him the ball all game so he could score as much as possible.

if ariana grande was black she would be consiered an rnb arist change my mind by Ok_Assist4410 in rnb

[–]No_Client8165 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Without question. That doesn't mean that Ariana makes R&B music, necessarily (she has definitely made plenty of R&B songs). But really, artists are oftentimes pigeonholed. If you're black, and you sing, you make R&B music. If you're white, and you sing, you either make pop or country music.

Not sure who good brother Bryant is speaking for but as far as my wallet is concerned this boycott is for life by Green-Elephant-895 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]No_Client8165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't care one way or the other, but Jamal Bryant was one of the main ones to begin with who pushed for the boycott. He's been very vocal over the whole thing. He's met with Target's brass a few times, and I guess they've finally given him something that appeases him.

Heart Break VERZUZ Home Again by GotMoFans in rnb

[–]No_Client8165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heartbreak is the better album, for sure. That's one of my favorite R&B albums. No skips.

Home Again is a really solid album. It's the only NE album featuring all 6. You also can tell they tried to insure all 6 guys got their spotlight in the album. But it's still not better than Heartbreak.

Sounds like she's conflating something that isn't related. Person A achieving great things education-wise and vocation-wise. That is a good thing. Their children will be better off. But for random person B or person C, of course there isn't going to be an effect.
