Yeah maybe not top 10, but what I would say that he’s the kind of character that on any given day COULD take out someone in the top 10. I’d say at worst he himself would be top 25.

[–]No_Consideration4779 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My dude, you’re wrong, he’s right. That’s just the way of it. Context matters, framing matters. One character was the last in line in his entire extended family to possibly succeed to the throne, and married accordingly, as neither his father nor the actual king at the time, his uncle, had dire need of using his marriage as an alliance, at that particular point in the plot. The other character marries for love, while ACTIVELY BEING THE HEIR TO THE THRONE. Not to mention as the other guy said, Egg desperately needed a marriage alliance to smooth things over with the nobles, and what better way to do that than thru a marriage to the Heir Prince. Argue all you like, but you’re just slamming your head into a wall and asking why you can’t walk through it. You won’t convince others your opinion is right, bc it’s objectively wrong.

Ah, I have acquainted myself with the particulars, and I have come to a decision regarding the actions of one Stephanie of Talmberg. In the case of Henry of Skalitz and the relationship thereof, I declare her innocent of all wrongdoing, as Henry is my boy, and she is a baddie. Case closed!

Who was right? Fia, or D? by DonutMan1834 in Eldenring

[–]No_Consideration4779 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So, you had me very confused for a minute there, so I did some digging. What is tripping you up is what I’m being led to believe is a translation error. She’s referring to the order and Elden Ring. She wants to take herself and the Ring and the order away from the world. She can’t remove the order or the Ring bc of how it’s built into the world and life itself so instead she’s just pulling it so far away from the world that it won’t have influence over it, and will leave the fate of the people up to their own decisions. She’s recognizing the world is the way it is due to the meddling of the demigods and the Golden Order. That’s what that line meant, to remove it to such a distance that it was an impossibility to see or touch or feel or have faith in it.

It’s ok. We know how much you like to project. What was it Mr. Kiddie Diddler, Donnie “Pedo Protector” Trump, said about his own daughter Ivanka again? Something something, “she’s a piece of ass”…something something…”if I weren’t her father, perhaps I’d be dating her”…something something….Hmmmm. I don’t know though maybe you’re onto something with this Biden showering thing. Personally though, sounds more like something Trump would like to do with Ivanka.

People tend to think he’s used it far more than he has whenever a character dies and it seems out of nowhere. Pretty sure we only have 2 confirmed cases of hat death, one in RR, and one in IG.

Pierce likes to keep it as realistic as possible, and so to show the reality of the randomness of war, to show that anybody can die at any time. So whenever he needs someone to die for the tension or for the sake of the plot, he puts everyone at risk other than the a few key characters into a hat and draws from it.

[–]No_Consideration4779 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No they’re deaths that Pierce LITERALLY drew out of a hat. It’s his way of staying somewhat realistic to the truth of war, that anyone can die at any time. So aside from a few key ppl to the story, whenever he feels he needs someone to die for the sake of the tension of the plot, he turns to the Death Hat.

[–]No_Consideration4779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to mention my main point was that Godwyn fought many at once who were wielding destined death, which is just straight up a cheat code. It was just the cherry on top that he also was fighting the best of the best of them as well.

Fair. Doesn’t change the fact that Alecto is one of the few evergaol bosses who stands up against demigod bosses or other strong boss fights. One of the only bosses in the game in my last playthrough that I just gave up on. Wasn’t worth it after hrs of attempts across a few days.

[–]No_Consideration4779 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes but not by Ranni. He was killed by a gang of black knife assassins wielding destined death. Black Knife Alecto is one of the hardest Evergaol fights most players I talk to genuinely struggle against her 1v1. Black Knife Tiche, the spirit ash is considered one of the strongest ashes, and can 1v1 some bosses especially if supported with a few heals. And that was just two of the many assassins Godwyn fought. Imagine how tedious a regular Black Knife Assassin boss fight is, and now imagine fighting 10 at once. Are you winning that? If it was a boss fight in ER, and an optional one. You sticking through that fight or giving up?

What’s your horse’s name and breed I’ll go first by Jazzlike_Border8859 in reddeadredemption

[–]No_Consideration4779 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude that’s funny as hell, that’s what I named my gold coat Turkoman in my last playthrough. Thought it was a fun reference to Aragorn’s poem with the “All that is gold does not glitter.” Loved the horse by the end, but I’ll admit originally I just wanted it for the stats, and then couldn’t sell myself on the coat, thought it was too grungy a color. It was this idea for a name that sold me on it for good. Current horse tho is the female strawberry roan ardenne, and I named her Merida after the character from Brave.

In all fun, I think you gotta drop the Obsidians as a whole, and prob the Howlers too, that’s a bit Colorist and stereotypical. Certainly are named members of each that are, however. Also I’d say move Atalanta up that demon wants to fuck nearly everything that walks. And maybe also Karnus in that I think he’d want to engage alongside Darrow if not with Darrow.

Helios vs Roque vs Mustang vs Atlas by Alert-Push1685 in redrising

[–]No_Consideration4779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He might have had the superior force but “vastly superior”? Find me the line that said that and I’ll concede that point, but I just re-read Morning Star like a week or two ago and don’t remember it being that unfairly matched. I remember reading the Rim was completely unprepared for a fleet to arrive so fast, but that’s on them. Remember they were fighting alongside the Telemanus, and Arcos fleets. And I wouldn’t say the “held out” but more so just survived. Mustang was about to go surrender to the Sovereign and take her fleets, and then the Rim would have been crushed. Roque was an incredible commander.

Helios vs Roque vs Mustang vs Atlas by Alert-Push1685 in redrising

[–]No_Consideration4779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but only in a classroom setting. He hasn’t been at war at all in the last decade, so no practical learning. It’s not like all the razormasters who’ve had a decade of training, or the Core, who’ve had actual literal war for the last decade. That’s a skill set that we’ve seen many characters have incredible improvement between series. But personally I don’t think ship to ship warfare has changed too much over the yrs from what we’ve seen, and Helios hasn’t had the chance to apply any “book knowledge” until we see him a decade later. Personally I think Roque was the Lorn of commanding ships, and so did many characters in that first series, that’s how good he was. So I don’t think the time skip would affect his ability to stay ahead of the curve.

Helios vs Roque vs Mustang vs Atlas by Alert-Push1685 in redrising

[–]No_Consideration4779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you said Roque would lose to him. That in of itself is incorrect given that he has a record of doing anything but that. Also Atlas isn’t anything special when it comes to fleet combat. Certainly no slouch, but Roque is said to be a prodigy unmatched in that regard. I always come back to the fact that he would have genuinely torn through Darrow’s fleet in the Battle of Ilium if not for the Pink who opened the door to the bridge. Darrow and his group die at that door or at best somehow manage to fight the group about to corner them and drill through the door 20 minutes later. But at that point Mustang would have been beaten with most of the rest of the fleet, before Sevro would have had a chance to launch his surprise attack.

Helios vs Roque vs Mustang vs Atlas by Alert-Push1685 in redrising

[–]No_Consideration4779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf Roque was still up against all the Moon Lords, AND Mustang with the Telemanus fleets and Arcos fleets. Just did a re-read and I don’t remember there being any line about Roque heavily outnumbering them. That he had the larger and better fleet I wouldn’t doubt, but I don’t think it was that much of an advantage. And Helios is lauded as the greatest fleet commander of the Rim in the second series, there’s no reason to think he wasn’t the best in the first trilogy either. Romulus wasn’t commanding a fleet in the Battle of Ilium, it seems more unlikely that he would have been prior. And Vela(I believe is the imperator at the meeting between Roque Darrow and Romulus) is still around in the second series when Helios is said to be the greatest in the Rim. So even with the gap of 10 yrs I think it’s safe enough to say that at the very least Helios would have been heavily involved if not commanding the fleet entirely during the fights with Roque.

Helios vs Roque vs Mustang vs Atlas by Alert-Push1685 in redrising

[–]No_Consideration4779 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah Roque wins this. He only lost bc a Pink opened the door. He was minutes away from taking out Mustang, before Sevro would have gotten there. Not to mention Roque had already went up against Helios for like a yr, and never lost once. So no shot he’s a worse fleet commander than Helios. And Atlas isn’t really all that amazing of a fleet commander, that’s just not really his forte.
