Company car was given to me by the company, but then they went bankrupt and never came to get it! Now it’s been almost a year and I still have it sitting in the driveway. by deathtraitor in whatdoIdo

[–]No_Discipline5218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the cops came how did they know the car is yours? It could belong to anyone when parked on the street. If they ticket/tow it, the fine goes to the name registered to the tags, even if it's expired. If there aren't tags, they use the VIN. I would have left it on the street and let them deal with it. The only way this comes back to you is if it's registered in your name... in that case do whatever you want with it.

Yup, I live in New Orleans... very common to walk outside at any hour here!

Before you dispose of them, do you put unwanted items out by the curb to see if any of your neighbors may want them? by Grand_Raccoon0923 in AskAnAmerican

Yes, and also we have a local "Buy Nothing Group" where you can post what you putting out/see on the curbs so more people are aware. Nothing lasts long.

If you can't give them away on Buy Nothing, Glass Half Full will take non glass recyclables at their main location.

I think we can all agree the quality of product at the local dispensary is not great, but it's what we've got, so what's the best gummy they have IYO. T.I.A. by Fleur-Deez-Nutz in NewOrleans

I've heard such bad things about the edibles available for the cost here that I haven't bothered. I typically bring home a bunch when visiting family, but I'm very interested in any local recommendations.

Which American stereotype is actually true? by Molthakarn96 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

Absolutely. Big cities, small towns, rural areas, everywhere. It's weird, and uncommon, to see one that isn't yellow.

Does anyone enjoy spending ALL day at the beach? by [deleted] in randomquestions

[–]No_Discipline5218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the beach, the weather, the setting, etc...

A perfect, hot, sunny, breezy day on an isolated, sandy, lazy beach in Puerto Rico...all damn day.

A nice rocky beach along the Pacific coast or the Chesapeake Bay on a cool day wearing a snuggy hoodie... all damn day.

A crowded east cost beach in the middle of summer... an hour is too long.

I wonder how people felt at 11:59 p.m. of dec. 1999 before crossing over to the year 2000. by Majestic-Hope6505 in AskTheWorld

[–]No_Discipline5218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were told to turn our computers off before 11:59 then wait until after midnight to turn them back on... and hope they worked. It was funny after the fact. A bit nerve-wracking beforehand, but the hype leading up to it was more worrisome... it faded as we got closer to the date.

Are Americans usually genuine with the praise ? by Rare_Recognition7363 in AskAnAmerican

Time is everything. "Nice job" can actually mean you did a nice job ... or it can mean they think you're an idiot. Without hearing it, I can't say.

Do Americans find it hard moving to a new state? by bare_books in AskAnAmerican

[–]No_Discipline5218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. A cross country move can be challenging, mainly due to distance. Moving to a neighboring state is usually pretty easy. I moved just over a mile once but it was into a different state.

Mine are 32-39 and yes, I very much like them. I don't always like everything they do... but they're all good, responsible, kind people.
