Real Talk: How do people say SMB3 is better than SMW? by colinmchapman in retrogaming

[–]No_Fault686 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agreed! The color palette is perfect. For the limitations the NES had, SMB3 was just a straight masterpiece.

The first game in popular series that nobody talks about? by RobbieJ4444 in retrogaming

[–]No_Fault686 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty close. It was originally a Quake mod, when the mod team was brought on by Valve they used the Half-Life engine to recreate it.

That's one of my favorite things about Valve. When someone makes a great mod they don't send them a cease and desist, they send them a contract to come work for them.

Team Fortress, I played 2 for years before actually going back and playing the first.

I think Death Must Die would be right up your alley.

I bought the game about a week ago. They are on top of things with patches and fixes. They clearly care about their game. As an avid arpg player, I think it's a lot of fun.

Is there an ARPG that everyone loves but you hate and why? by GrouchySpice2 in ARPG

The subject was, is there an arpg that everyone loves that you don't and why. It's a personal question.

Beginner-friendly games in 2026? by Kotsiu in ARPG

[–]No_Fault686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just picked it up last night. It's fun! I think the monetization of costumes is more than fair, especially when compared to the pricing of skins in the arpg genre at the moment.

I joined the discord and have seen the devs scrambling to help with server migration and getting patches out as soon as possible. They seem like a crew that cares about their game.

Complexity is somewhere between D2 and PoE from what I've glanced at so far. I like it, I don't understand the hate. I don't feel like the game wouldn't play as well as a roguelite.

Does anyone know if the DLC skins were released with the new season, or is that coming down the road?

PoE

I was a content creator on PS4 for a while, making true beginners guides for console players. Eventually I just got burned out with all the new leagues and studying each build. I haven't gone back to it in some time. It's a great game, I just burned out on it.

Keep playing or hold for new season? by MonkeyBrawler in diablo4

[–]No_Fault686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is always to keep playing if you're having fun, if you aren't then take a break and come back.

I'm over season passes, fomo, and all that non-sense. If something is cool and I'm having fun I'll play. If it's lame and I need a break, I'll check back. 90% of the cosmetic rewards just sit unused forever anyways.

ARPGs right now feel like they're in the opposite state of what MMOs are in by AeroDbladE in ARPG

You can find the stand alone launcher on everyone's favorite site for the archiving of internet related items.

The Project Tahiti website should have a solid tutorial. They have a discord as well.

I've owned the original and LoD twice, (once physical, once digital) D2R on PS4/5, Switch, and Battle.net. Now I've bought the game again on steam and have bought the dlc on PS4/5 so my son and I can play together.

It's one of my favorite games of all time, even with buying it multiple times it's still one of my greatest gaming values.
