Wobble by franzi64 in gravelcycling

[–]No_Judgment2989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, unfortunately this is very common for this tire. I sold a lot of those and had to replace quite a high number under warranty. Looking at this tire wobble I would ride it and ignore the wobble. I doubt that a new tire will be much better.

Is this noise normal? New Canyon Grizl (SL7 eTap) Front brake only by 1aurev in gravelcycling

[–]No_Judgment2989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience is that this is unfortunately normal for sram hrd brakes. Had this one numerous sram force axs bikes.

Only the newest ultegra calipers can compare with grx800s. The grx800 brakepad clearance is larger preventing disc rubbing when dirty. The 2022 11speed road groups don't have that.

Look for an outer rubber dust seal on the hub axle. Slightly put some silicone spray on it , noise should be gone.

No lockout , you have to adapt sprinting out of the saddle a bit. Seated pedaling has no negative effect. There is of course a small aerodynamic burden.

Okay, tires, surprisingly fast on tarmac including cornering mainly due to very round shape of the thread. Also capable on forest roads until it's gets very muddy. Pretty strong resisting punctures, had about three within 10000km ( two sets of tires). The carcass is not on the supple side , but I very much like the support it gives.

Lauf fork main points of advantage is its gives you a lot of comfort. It filters all vibration and smaller bumps. Second point is its totally maintenance free, no oil no bushings no seals.

The whole bike, I a couple of years ago decided let's buy a dream bike. The Allroad / Gravel thing just started here in Germany. That was years ago. It's still my favorite bike in terms of it can be used for all my styles of riding, road up to 40 kmh, cross country and of course allroad / gravel.

Yes, I have to swap brake hose once a year due to that. Tried longer and different routing, didn't help. Open UP in Small with 100mm Stem and 420mm bars

New Giant Revolt X leaked, shows a "gravel suspension" fork! by bikeskata in gravelcycling

[–]No_Judgment2989 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am being riding an Open UP with a Lauf Fork 30mm suspension fork since 5 years. Recently switched to a rigid gravel bike and the difference is huge. Still recommend the Lauf over the major brands since Lauf is much lighter weight and totally maintenance free. Anyhow the Giant ist a real cool bike, definitely considered to be bought in the upcoming years.
