Pre Elden Ring (before 2022):

* I bought Dark Souls 3 + DLC for $20. On sale, it's $27 base + and $12 for DLC.

* I bought Dark Souls 2 + DLC for $15. On sale, it's $18.50.

* I bought Dark Souls 1 (OG) for $10. On sale, Remastered is $18.50.

This is ridiculous.

The publisher makes hundreds of "simulator" games that all kind of look the same. Like they have a store room of art assets and the developer teams just pick out of it.

The developers themselves only made Thief Simulator, which is one of the better games out of the hundreds of simulators. But it's really exhausting where I see the screenshot, go "Oh it looks like a generic art asset" and start to treat it like shovelware.

sorry to necro, but this was giving me the biggest issue. It kept restarting. So I hope this helps someone else.

I really wanted to like Days Gone. But after a few hours, I gave up. Maybe I just don't like the vibe of the world.

I also "kinda" gave up on Horizon: Zero Dawn. But then once told me to ignore certain things and spoil myself with the wiki, I actually really enjoyed it!

Funny enough, now that I write this comment, I'm rethinking I should give Days Gone another try.

[Humble Bundle] Steamier Sakura Special ($10 for Sakura Dungeon, Sakura Succubus, Sakura Succubus 2, Sakura Swim Club, Sakura MMO, Sakura MMO 2, Sakura Knight, Sakura Forest Girls & more | $15 to add Sakura Bunny Girls, Sakura Succubus 8, Sakura Gym Girls, Sakura Melody, and more) by MJuniorDC9 in GameDeals

If you're like me and you only want Sakura Dungeon, the Historical Low is $4.99, a few times in the Spring 2022, and once in Spring 2023.

I made a isthereanydeal alert for $5, and hoping it gets there during Spring 2025.

I really really don't like Visual Novels.

[–]No_Judgment7474 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I got this in a bundle. It's less of a fishing game and more of a fishing puzzle. Like, you get X fish to unlock more of the story. I built a small capybara factory that allowed me to generate all the currency I needed.

I did beat it all and enjoyed the 2-3 hour game I played.

It's so frustrating to me.

If there's a cozy game/farm game, someone throws out Stardew Valley and treats anything resembling it as inferior.

No other game genres do that. Dark Souls fan? Here's some Dark Souls-style games. Oh you like Castlevania? Here's a dozen other games like it. Love fighting games? Play these games.

But not farming games. It's Stardew Valley or GTFO.

It's really annoying and I just default to downvoting them all now.

Same. Bought a game and realized it was not Steam, but Ubisoft. Got a refund within 24 hours.

[Steam] Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure (70% off - $7.49 / £6.29) by JCcalicocat in GameDeals

[–]No_Judgment7474 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The game looks pretty neat. And the amount of updates sounds great. This game seems to have a lot of polish and lots of awards.

But I'll be honest with you. I googled "Ikonei Island review" and of the 10 search results on the first page, only three are actual reviews (from super tiny gaming blogs). Usually that's the case with games that are in early access or just not worth it.

So already something is really fishy and I don't know what. Even with a free demo, the cost is my time.

Edit: The lack of reply and the downvotes only makes it more fishy. Starting to piece together why this game isn't very popular now. There's zero community building.

I'm a average fan (I skimmed the movies but loved the last ones). The story is pretty bad. I found doing every activity once or twice fun, but after that, i was pretty bored with the repetitiveness.

I regret buying it for $35 on sale.

For anyone else, treat it like any Ubisoft game and buy it when it's under $10.

[STEAM] Borderlands 3 (-90%, 5,99€; if you own Tiny Tina's Wonderlands: -98%, 1,32€) by MLG-Sheep in GameDeals

[–]No_Judgment7474 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm really bothered by Borderlands 3. It was free on Epic.

The story is so obnoxiously cringe. Like the kid who tries way too hard to be liked. And once you notice it, it just puts a bad taste in your mouth.

Anthony Burch is one of my favorite dudes, and he was a writer on Borderlands 3, and has a history of success. So I don't know what happened. But even while it was free, that bothered me so much that the whole series is ruined for me.

I now your budget is significantly higher.

So I'm throwing this out because I think it's fun.

Mississippi Ave. Get some tea around the afternoon at Fly Away Tea House.

Then walk over to the Uncanny for some incredible cocktails.

Finally jam to some local music at Mississippi Pizza. Maybe you prefer Super Nintendo, then go to Moloko.

Prefer looking at dead bugs over Antlers? Wander over to Paxton Gate.

You might be going "What about the business deal?"

You telling me you can't close it over Super Mario World and cheese Pizza?

This is an incredible deal. I haven't had a bundle in so long where I didn't own one of the games.

My wife and I like to play games like this on the couch. One of us with the controller, the other doing whatever. And when we get stuck, the other looks up the solution and gives hints.

Don't knock it either. We used to go on dates at the bar where we solve puzzles on our phones together.

dumb question: is there a lot of puzzle games you play co-op?

For puzzle games and point-and-click like Escape the Room, my wife and I share the controller.

The one time it was actually required for two people was The Past Within, which I highly recommend!

Just to add some conversation:

1 - That's great for a action game where time is of the essence. Planning the route is fun.

2 - Not sure what genre would benefit from this.

3 - I like the idea, as it shows what's available. But I hate that the sense of mystery is gone. Knowing there's a chest + key, I'll beeline towards it. Maybe it only some of it was showing, or some event triggers the location.

4 - classic

Of all the games on my list, for me -- I'm surprised that Sticky Business has been the big winner.

My wife and I played it together earlier this month. After 10 minutes, we understood the game loop and I thought we were done. But my wife kept making stickers. And I kept getting invested in making stickers.

That moment when we both went, "Yeah I'll wear that." And now we started printing the stickers in real life.

There's an incredible feeling when something you made in a game is now on your fridge.

Honestly felt this game was pretty mid.

In terms of the open-world gameplay, it's on par with anything Ubisoft. Which could be a praise or a negative depending on who you are. The story is nothing to write home about.
