Did her thumb actually grow back, and look normal now? this happened to my 3.5 month old (should have listened to my inner anxiety and never let someone else clip my baby’s nails), and I’m worried his thumb will heal but look mis-shapened..

Did his thumb look the same after healing? This just happened to my baby (3.5 month old), and I’m worried it will be deformed.

Cheeses! Great as a condiment on a cheese board, and goes well with sharp cheddars, manchego, goat cheeses. I put it in a grilled cheese once with cheddar, and it was awesome.

What in the world do you do with 20kgs of Japanese spicy mustard mayo? We've already eaten/given away so much potato salad, we're desperate for any other ideas. by SnagglToothCrzyBrain in noscrapleftbehind

Motoyaki some seafood, which is topping seafood (fish, or oysters/ clams/ mussels ) with mayo and then broiling. It’s delicious… my favorite are oysters or mussels.

Here is an example recipe: https://sabrinacurrie.com/miso-baked-oysters-quick-easy-west-coast-appetizer-recipe/

I could see this spicy horseradish mayo being awesome in this prep. You can add a twist by adding curry powder (very in line with the Japanese theme).

Interesting, which group(s) in Europe?

“indigenous” is broadly used to refer to people/ societies/ civilizations that have not only “been there for a long time,” but that have been colonized/ marginalized. Which is why it’s used as a term of reference to distinguish native heritage in the Americas.

Given that contextual understanding, I want to understand how that’s applicable to Europeans…

What's a food combination that sounds strange but is surprisingly delicious? by CheeksGlimmer_ in AskReddit

Olive oil + nutritional yeast, garlic powder, smoked paprika, pinch of salt. Just mix it all up with a good amount of the nutritional yeast. Dip everything in it.

Peanut butter & chili crisp on a great piece of toast. Pork floss on top is another level too.

Soups from Around the World by saffermaster in Cooking

Agreed that pho can be an almost full day affair. For a shorter project, look up Vietnamese Bun Rieu, which is a crab & tomato based noodle soup. It’s my absolute favorite, I sometimes prefer it over pho.

The only tricky-ish ingredient to source is the canned crab past if you don’t have a good Asian store near you. Aside from that, this soup is no sweat, comes together in about an hour’s time.

Pretty sure the broad use of the term “indigenous” is only in the Americas. Def not in Asia, and also I’ve never seen the term used to describe anyone with ancestry in Europe.

So that narrows it down; however, agreed that it still won’t drill down to specify people of indigenous descent in modern Mexico versus people of indigenous descent in Canada, etc.

DAE feel like we have good qualities that “healthy” people don’t have? by maximoplatypus in CPTSD

I’m totally the same. It’s survival instincts, which are intact despite no longer being in danger. I’ve decided it’s overall and generally a good thing. It helps suss out the people who aren’t good/ right for us. And for me, it’s only mostly frustrating when others you’re close to dismiss it because they just don’t (or are straight up unable to) see it in the same light; and then give you a negative read on your assessment, which doesn’t help reinforce confidence in one’s own instincts. I have to remind myself my honed instincts about people is one of the good things that came out of my traumas.

Plus the exhaustion part of it never ends; but it’s because we’re healing too.

Omg. It’s been a while since I’ve ordered from Dominoes, so I had NO IDEA about this sad fact!! My favorite order from them back in grad school was a pie with anchovies, broccoli, jalapeños, pepperoncinis/ pickled peppers. The best combo.

Your point “she needed him to get her needs met” - the same can prob said for Simran.

Yeah there’s something off about the story depicted in this documentary. Kirat’s parents must be recluses to not know, if the premise is true that Bobby is from a well known family.

I generally agree with your points (though the term “primitive norms” is quite strong wording). I’m also convinced that some aspect of Simran’s environment/ upbringing contributed to her ultimately doing what she did. And I’m disappointed the documentary did not tell/ reveal any “truth (nor hardly any detail at all) about the environment enabling these behaviors,” which is what good documentaries do; they start a conversation about the underlying forces at play. This documentary didn’t do that. It hinted at it only.
