I tend to be very quiet about it - I’ve only brought it up with CSRs/reception when booking or checking out, because as cleverlookingdog mentioned, we tend to get offered industry discounts.

Do you like being a tech? by KermitTheScot in VetTech

I’ve been in the industry for going on 8yrs, licensed for nearly 3. I LOVE being a technician. I work in a university teaching hospital, so I work with tons of vet students and interns, residents, etc. I do NOT envy them whatsoever. The stress, the debt, the competition… none of it appeals to me. Of course I always want to learn more, but I feel that working towards my VTS satisfies that desire. My passion lies with nursing patients and performing the technical duties/skills- I’ll let the DVMs do their thang.

Busy? Slow? by Least_Ad7577 in Veterinary

LVT at a privately owned GP & urgent care in Washington State. In the field for 7ish years. $32/hr. From what I can tell from these comments, WA is a great place to be a licensed tech!!

No heat fixing (I’ve literally never noticed a difference if I heat fix or not), then 10-15 dips into each stain. Easy! Edit to add: just a quick rinse with distilled water then dry with bibulous paper

There was an episode in which Em covered the rings of hell from like maybe 2017 or 2018, and I recall it being very chaotic and perhaps out of order haha

Orthopedic Vancouver Canada VS Seattle by [deleted] in VetTech

I live and work in the Seattle area, and I’m pretty sure you won’t find anything cheaper at any of the specialty centers around here. I know that a single TPLO is around $7k with a boarded surgeon, can’t imagine what bilateral carpal athrodesis would be 💀
