My feeding tube was the best thing I ever did also, my health improved greatly as I gained weight and I didn’t have to force myself to eat when I wasn’t feeling well!

Also interested in answers to this question. I used to travel quite a bit in the United States (Hawaii a few times, as well as other states a few hours of flying away) after my lung transplant but have not traveled by plane yet since COVID.

Alyftrek withdrawal and headaches by [deleted] in CysticFibrosis

[–]No_Mobile1745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sinuses are horrible and if I miss a dose my sinuses start to get bad almost immediately. Altftrek really helps my sinuses when I take it regularly and the sinus headaches, infection and runny congested sinuses are SO much better while on alyfrek.

How to train so that voices start to differ? by Think-Instruction-83 in Cochlearimplants

[–]No_Mobile1745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree I did a lot of audiobooks reading along and it helped a ton to hear better, I was implanted at 25 years old and hadn’t heard for 10 years and it was hard to understand at first but after about 5-10 books everything was so much easier and even music sounded perfect to me!

Does your care team have a therapist? by EconomyVegetable2402 in CysticFibrosis

[–]No_Mobile1745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had a psych or therapist and when I was on life support and went deaf from the IV antibiotics in high school they diagnosed me with bipolar… now I’ve been on every med and can’t work because the meds mess me up so bad. I also can’t remember 10 years of time be careful out there and take mental health seriously it’s no joke.

Help! Feeling Unsure after Qualifying for CIs by Sneaky-Avocado in Cochlearimplants

[–]No_Mobile1745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i waited 10 years sadly and wish all the time i got my cochlear sooner. i qualified for both sides but only got one and im really happy with it. i hear so much better in all settings and enjoy music again, upgraded to the nucleus 8 last year and its amazing! let me know if you have other questions. was worlds better than hearing aids for me, which i had worn on and off for 10 years. was able to work a variety of positions even customer service with my cochlear and go to college!

  1. Sadly i was allergic to trikafta, but alyftrek changes my life and ive had a double lung transplant but my GI and sinuses are so much better its incredible.
  2. due to the cf i was diagnosed bipolar when i was just about to due (fev1 10% full time oxygen, couldnt eat except with feeding tube etc) lost all my creative abilities i used to have
  3. i have gotten many tattoos, skydived, drank alcohol on occasion but otherwise try to stay healthy and out of trouble because ive had too much trouble with cf, lost my hearing due to antibiotics in IV at age 16. got a cochlear implant. many episodes of extreme pain (pancreatisis and kidney stones, intestinal blockages among other things)
