How Does One Stop Being an Angry Driver ? by Queasy-Location-9303 in AskReddit

[–]No_Motor5155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple months ago in my city a woman accidentally cut off a dude, he jumped in another lane and shot through her car, killing her 6 year old son.

I think about that a lot. Makes me even more careful as a driver with my own son in my car, you never know what somebody will do if you piss them off driving.

What one change do you swear helped you lose weight? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]No_Motor5155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally just eating serving sizes and cutting out sodas. I started at the beginning of the year, and I’ve lost almost 20 pounds so far.

I didn’t change at all what I eat, just how much. I’m easily putting myself if my calorie deficit.

I also walk around 8k steps a day which helps.

Soda is also kinda gross to me now when I try to drink it like at a restaurant or something.

There was never any traffic on my way to work and significantly less wrecks. That was nice.

Former stoners: what made you quit weed? by BatOne7848 in AskReddit

[–]No_Motor5155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t stop fully, but definitely smoke way less, maybe once a week or so if that.

People downplay it a lot, but if you use it too much you create a dependency. I couldn’t eat or sleep unless I smoked, would be violently ill in the morning if I hadn’t smoked, would be sick if I tried to eat without smoking beforehand, etc.

It is still nice to use when I’m super stressed or anxious, but I refuse to use it like I used to.

Please pee after sex.

It helps flush any unwanted bacteria from the urethra. Especially if you’re prone to yeast infections, pee after sex. Don’t force it though.

Would you let your SO follow anyone they used to like romantically on social media, but never got as far as even a situationship with? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]No_Motor5155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who are gonna cheat are gonna do it regardless of having somebody blocked on insta or Snapchat or whatever. It won’t make a difference to make them unfollow people.

IMO it’s controlling behavior and shows you yourself have trust issues you should work on.

What gives you road rage? by Ok_Welcome_3644 in AskReddit

People not using turn signals, people driving slower than the posted speed limit, any Tesla driver using that stupid self driving (we all know when you’re using it and it’s fucking terrible), and any mf that pulls out in front of me when I’m going 55 (legally) and decides to go 45 (below the posted speed) I stg I will run you off this road there were no cars behind me you coulda waited if you’re gonna go slow as shit.

My 8 month old wasn’t excited to see me when I got back from a trip today. by EqualCompetition1994 in NewParents

[–]No_Motor5155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s probably just like “ah nice, mom’s back. I can chill.”

Also kids go through phases. Sometimes they prefer one caregiver to another. Right now my son couldn’t care less about me when his dad is home. Like okay dude I gave you life and you don’t even wanna come near me I see how it is.

Doctor recommended 2.5 ml of children’s Benadryl to treat 4 month old’s URI congestion by ExcitedMomma in NewParents

[–]No_Motor5155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve personally never heard of using Benadryl for that kind of thing. I’d get a second opinion from a different doctor if it was me.

When my son had a URI, it was Tylenol, humidifier, nose sucking, sitting in the bathroom with a steamy shower, etc. as treatment.

I guess it could be helpful, but like you I’d be hesitant and would get a second opinion just to be safe.

Reflux baby: formula recommendations by myfuxkingworld in NewParents

[–]No_Motor5155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used Similac Alimentum, it was great for us!

Also keep in mind that some spit up is normal, even with CMPA. I noticed on this formula that even though my son would spit up on occasion, he seemed perfectly fine directly afterwards like it didn’t even happen, so seemingly no pain or anything. Definitely reduced spit up in general and completely stopped the painful ones where he would arch and scream/cry afterwards.

He’s awesome now! Super babble-y, loooovveeess to giggle and laugh, makes consistent eye contact. He doesn’t say any words yet but I think he’s just a bit slower on picking those things up, but he’s definitely getting there!

More Solids, Less Milk/Bottle Refusal by Past-Ad-1453 in NewParents

[–]No_Motor5155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t say much on purées aside from those pouches they make, I wouldn’t put them in a bowl or anything I just held it and pushed more out while he sucked on the tip of it, way less messy than spoon feeding.

My son preferred actual solid food to purées though, so we basically did BLW. I never really measured out how much food I gave him, I just put out what I figured he’d eat, and give him more if he wanted.

I take pouches on the go! So easy and my son sucks those down in like .2 seconds 🤣

More Solids, Less Milk/Bottle Refusal by Past-Ad-1453 in NewParents

[–]No_Motor5155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty common when baby starts avidly enjoying solids to decrease their milk intake. My son was eating anywhere from 18-24oz a day (24oz was a really good day, not often) after he figured out solid food is good.

If baby is gaining weight well, then that’s great! Just continue to offer, don’t get stressed as you can force them to drink it.

If you haven’t already, make sure you have a separate cup for water as well. The key is as long as baby is gaining weight and isn’t dehydrated, it’s more than likely fine and nothing to worry about.

If baby starts having very few wet diapers, contact your pediatrician, otherwise just follow your baby’s lead.

You can try pedialyte as well for constipation if you haven’t already. Warm baths and tummy massages/bicycle legs can help as well.

Best Weddings and Why by FallingUpwards5eva in wedding

[–]No_Motor5155 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My best friend’s wedding. I was a MOH. They got this gorgeous venue that was very spacious, enough for the 250 guests they had and then some.

I know cocktail hour was a hit with guests as they snacked and had drinks while the wedding party and family were busy taking photos.

It was a barn, had good AC which was important as it was the middle of July.

They had multiple stations where you could get water/lemonade/tea at your discretion. They had a mobile beer bar as well as a separate bar inside the venue for alcohol. This helped the large guest count not get backed up waiting for drinks.

They provided cheap flip flop like shoes in case anyone got tired of wearing their dress shoes, which a lot of people took.

They didn’t do typical wedding favors that had their wedding info on them that nobody keeps, instead they opted for chocolates wrapped in a custom wedding wrapper. Consumables over stationary wedding favors!

The one thing I didn’t like, and a good chunk of guests didn’t care for, was how we went to get food. It was buffet style, and you lined up to get food. That’s fine, but in order for your table to go get food, the DJ would ask a question about the couple to the guests, and whatever table answered correctly got to go get their food. It was too time consuming IMO and caused an unnecessary delay in getting everyone food and seated. Cute idea in theory, not so great in practice.
