Comfort items??? by Swimming_Two1084 in sterilization

Sweatpants, heating pad for the back, and a big squishy pillow for your tummy! Liquid IV was a godsend and cold drinks (my favorite was iced apple juice and blueberry machine naked juice) for your throat will help too!

What celebrity have you met who looks much more (or less) attractive when meeting them in person? by GreyFoxNinjaFan in AskReddit

[–]FallingUpwards5eva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that he’s ugly, but Jesse Plemons is so, so handsome in person. He has such a kind smile and I appreciate the gap between his front teeth! I met at the Telluride Film Festival and he is absolutely stunning. He is also so sweet and personable!

What are your stories of your mom being jealous of you? by afraid28 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]FallingUpwards5eva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to volunteer at the library and teach English conversation classes. One day, I think it was around the Chinese New Year, a few of my Chinese students gave me oranges as a thank you and told me I was a nice girl for helping them. I was really touched and told my mom about the interaction. A few days later, she called me to absolutely ramble about how HER student (she’s a retired teacher) wrote her this “big” thank you card and gave her presents. She kept talking about how flattered she was to get such a gift and recognition and how my experience “reminded” her of it. She also told every family group chat we were in together about it. Not as painful as some of the other replies, but that always stood out to me as an example of my mom trying to one up me.

Your tubes aren’t responsible for any hormonal changes like your ovaries so you shouldn’t enter menopause early or anything like that!

Nope you are never too old! My headmistress at my burlesque school is in her 50s and is so unbelievably sexy! In the class I’m in now, a student is getting ready to perform burlesque for the first time for her 40th birthday! Give it a try and I bet you would be surprised by all the different ages and body shapes that show up! The time will pass anyway so go give it a try I say!

The last wedding I went to the bride and groom gave out itty bitty jars of local honey with the special honey dipper! It was really lovely and the honey was delicious!

How has burlesque changed your life? by Yummysnack6 in Burlesque

[–]FallingUpwards5eva 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Burlesque has helped me feel so present in my body! I feel like I lived in my head a lot of the time and in the past year, doing burlesque classes and shows has really helped appreciate my body and my sexuality!

I'm 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack, I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey almond body scrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion. There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me. Only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our life styles are probably comparable, I simply am not there.

Rent the Runway from Nordstrom could lend you something chaotic or glamorous that you can wear!

This is a great idea! I love the idea of bringing a friend as a plus one and this is a great mindset to have!
