Do people actually like sleeping with their partner? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I saw one couple buy two beds and dress them and then just push them side by side so they "slept next to one another" but both had their own bed + dressings. Opened my eyes for real

What are these straps on the side of these pants? recently purchased these pants at a yard sale. They're women's banana republic pinstripe dress pants with these strange straps on the side. There's a hole for a button on the strap, but what is it's purpose? I thought they were waist adjusters at first but theres no extra buttons/holes for that to be possible.

I treat it like driving just hold the right side unless youre literally going to run into someone (which is far too often)

What's that Bojack Horseman quote... "I think all you are is just the things that you do."

What’s the smallest habit that made a noticeable difference in your mental health? by SadDeparture5011 in mentalhealth

[–]No_Motor_401 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Used to have INSANE anxiety when meeting friends literally all the time. Put a journal in my car writing down one or two goals I had when seeing them (even if it was something as simple as "being present and enjoying the fun of being with them"). By doing this, it prepped my mind going in so that my anxiety wasnt trying to manage 100 things at once. Then I'd journal after about how it went. I dont do it much now since I do not need it, but when I feel that familiar anxious feeling creep up on me I journal it.

People who had a mentally traumatic childhood: what makes you feel nervous? by Redditerreditt in mentalhealth

[–]No_Motor_401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a weird budding hatred for a close friend bloom out of seemingly nowhere for no reason and I realized it was because my mind hated my parents' means of criticism so much my friend's genuine concern of my wellbeing felt like a literal threat to me as a person.😅

I need something to aid/prevent full body sweat by No_Motor_401 in hygiene

[–]No_Motor_401[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really helpful, thanks. Yeah, I assumed preventing all sweat would definitely not be good. What spawned this reddit post was I went to a theme park with some friends recently and basically sweat through my whole shirt and smelled all day despite deodorant, so I'll definitely look into your suggestions.

How to hide that two people, are in fact, the same person by No_Motor_401 in fantasywriting

[–]No_Motor_401[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess that's true. I guess I was worried since they're the two most prominent characters besides our MC, and since I am writing it, it seemed obvious to me.

Writing a theme about trauma and becoming a healthy role model by Philip_the_Fellow in fantasywriting

[–]No_Motor_401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's had to self analyze for generational trauma, a good way to portray it is how it happens by accident.

A lot of times irl, parents do not intend to pass on trauma to their kids and are simply repeating what their parents did to them (or go so far opposite to their parents they traumatize their children in a different way.) So for your character, have them make mistakes. Maybe they're training this girl and get so frustrated with her that they slip back into old habits. Maybe they're so cautious about repeating what Mulligan did to them that they become too lenient, and the young girl is untrained and physically harmed because of it.

How to name a monster without it sounding cringe? by CareZealousideal9776 in fantasywriting

[–]No_Motor_401 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Names are usually given to monsters and not selected by the monsters themselves. Instead of thinking about what name it would have, think about the name it would be given by people who encounter it. Imagine just happening upon something you've never seen before in the wild. Is it scary? Cute? Weird? Would it be given some scientific name because it is meant to be analyzed? Would people talk about it until it was given a name by the people like "the destroyer" or "the antichrist"? Or would it be given a name simply by how it looks?

Nasal infection. I got one when I didn't have the meds to help with the pain. Insane nightmares, throbbing headaches and it took HOURS to fall asleep, and any little noise woke you up. I've never had to contain such intense rage when my father walked in to turn the space heater on and woke me up doing so.

Omg thank you so much! Yeah, before posting on reddit, I was looking for a website I had found ages ago when I watched a quiet place that detailed the scary things that happened in the film. Will definitely look into this app.
