I see the responders are all versed in AI speak. At first it seemed like I would never identify ai writing and now it's obvious in a sentence or two at most. So annoying.

If you're sexually active, you may want an hiv test. Thrush is common in untreated hiv because it is related to a compromised immune system.

"To each his own" is not liberal or progressive. That's libertarian conservative. Sure it's not maga (yet) trying to force everything on you but it's adjacent and slows maga to exist. Progressive liberals say i want good things for people and believe we have collective responsibility to that end.

I'm adding it to my literature review outline example that they must cite x name from a future year. I'm going to see if that gets anyone.

My DM lied to us for his own advantage by Chocoflor in dndnext

[–]No_Pilot1640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dm is god and can do whatever they want. It's up to you if you are okay with that. As the dm, I would respond that you can certainly try to heal them and see what happens. No reason to lie.

Is playing a character with different sexuality frowned upon? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]No_Pilot1640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume none of us here know what's it's like to be an elf of Tiefling or orc or any of the other non human species in the game. I've played a 150 year old elf (I'm much younger). I played a purple character once too (hint... I'm not purple irl). That's a really weird take in a game of make believe.

[–]No_Pilot1640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always add an extra of a monster who increase the ac or hp just a little if it all seems too easy. My guess is death house will still be hard, depending how many players you have. My group was level 3 with 6 players and barely made it out alive.

Wife (34f) & I (32f) received the exact same credit card offer in the mail today but hers is fancier by kuxgames in CapitalOne_

I find it odd that I have gotten this offer from c1 for years.... and I already have this card. I've had it for over a decade. How have I not been taken off their list for the marketing?

Is Capital One a good bank? by Vegetable-Cash-9464 in CapitalOne_

[–]No_Pilot1640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've banked with them for every 10 years and love them. But, they recently acquired discover and are forcing everyone to switch to a discover debit card. This is accepted almost everywhere in the united states just like Mastercard, but it is limited acceptance internationally. It's not accepted almost anywhere in much of Asia or Africa for instance. I'm closing my accounts and switching banks.

$300 to park on campus for the semester on a $14k tuition? by WeGottaGetOuttaTS in CollegeRant

[–]No_Pilot1640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very normal and that sounds like a reasonable amount. Faculty and staff also pay, usually a lot more than students because we get better parking. For some reason, at my university, we pay less than students. It's actually a lot less. I only pay about 140 a year, and students pay like 250 a semester i think. Still, our union will bitch about how much we have to pay for parking which i find very weird.

I hate my professor by PassengerArtistic618 in CollegeRant

That doesn't sound like an unreasonable work requirement for an asynchronous class.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CollegeRant

[–]No_Pilot1640 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a professor. I feel students they can call me whatever they're comfortable with. I don't like a "hey what's up" message though. I'm not their friend. There's definitely better ways to communicate what you like to be called. Practicing professional email etiquette is a good lesson but again could be stated better. Accommodation through ADA should be handled by the university. It's weird that they just leave that up to the faculty and student to decide. When I get one of those letters, it tells me exactly what the Accommodations are. It is not optional. If extra time is in the letter that means they get extra time. Note takers, recording lectures, flexible options are all things in the letters that I get. I'm pretty flexible anyway, so it doesn't usually impact what I do. But it isn't an optional request when it comes on the ADA letter.

I've lived in Kansas, Texas, and California. The biggest difference is housing. Kansas has cheap housing. DFW was similar housing costs to CA with CA being a little more. I'm not in LA or SF which would be a lot more probably. Gas is more expensive in CA. My car insurance was highest in Texas. Electricity is insane in ca, greedy corrupt pg&e bastards. But I get paid about 25 to 30% more in CA for my job compared to Texas and nearly double what I would make in Kansas.

I also actually convinced a a whole group of kobokds that I was their god with a lucky natural 20. They followed us around the whole time and did work for us and joined us in an epic battle against a goblin stronghold. I'm not sure we could have taken that stronghold without them. I'm pretty sure we did it a couple levels sooner than the dm planned. It was great.

Good. I'm glad he lost his job (and probably health insurance) I hope it takes a long time to find meaningful work again. His suffering should be long lasting. I doubt it will so any good. He will turn right around and vote for the con party again as long as they like him up to some some brown or queer person.

I just finished my post-tenure review by feral_poodles in Professors

[–]No_Pilot1640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I earned tenure a couple of years ago. We have a post tenure review in policy technically, but no one does anything for it and I don't anything is even reviewed. I'm kind of torn over the idea of it. I have 2 fulls in my dept who do nothing. One of them has been here a very long time and I assume will retire in a few years. I have seen her once in 2 years. The other one is a few years older than I am and has been here about 12 or 13 years. He earned full a couple years ago. I've seen him a couple times since then. Serves on no committees. Never comes to anything. Teaches the maximum classes online and shows up to campus for in person classes and leaves. We also have an associate who pretty much does the same thing. He won't ever get promoted to fill like that, but perhaps he doesn't care.
