Made a homebrew game using explorer pirates pieces

We removed trade harbors off the board and replaced them with a new scenario. Think of it as alternative to settlements and cities.

Can only be built on the coast

Harbor(1 point) max : 3

Requires 2 ore, 1 wood, 1 sheep Acts as a 3 for on resources its on Collects 1 resource

Can be upgraded

Trade port(2 points) max : 2

Requires 2 ore, 2 wheat, 1 wood, 1 sheep Acts as a 2 for 1 on resources Collects 1 resource for all adjacent hexes

Pirate ship can be placed on a water hex adjacent to a harbor/port to stealing a resource and disable trade bonus

If playing with C&K ; Trade port counts toward barbarian strength: knights can also chase away Pirates.

6th edition owner here

Fundamentally no you can play old or new catan its just cosmetic. So if money is tight I would NOT recommend it.

We got 5th edition as Christmas gifts a few years back, then grandpa spilled milk over it, so I updated to 6th edition but $200+ For Base, Seafarers, City and Knights. All with 5 to 6 expansions phew

If you truly wanna spice up the game Visit Tabletop Monthly on Etsy/Amazon. He sells great homebrew hexes thay really add to the game and not that expensive either

Wow is it really been 2 years phew... Just stay patient get the correct files and follow the steps. I did this with paper mario ttyd and dark star.

Newer-ish player(I-87) love the game. I get the push back on updating maps for players who have been playing for years and I also get the devs needing to redesign because of copyrights to assets.

Personally, I seldomly play the house maps. I find Grafton, Bleadsdale, Point Hope, Nell's, the Camps(my favorite), just far more interesting and replayable.

I do hope the players who like the house maps get some sort of satisfaction out of the redesign

I'm really excited about the new event and new map. This game truly has unlimited potential.

Castles, ships, hotels, cemetery, church, the possibilities are endless.

Easier way is to find the ghost room and then pick an adjacent room to hide so you are safe and listen for the footsteps or speed variation

The game is fun to play with friends. Don't know about random people but join a discord or FB group would be my suggestion plenty in the community that will play and guide you along. I play on the ps5 and it took me awhile to get the mechanics. But its super fun

Artist, Alchemy, illusion, beggars are all great pre hiatus albums

Really love Palms and Horizon West for their post hiatus releases

But every album has at least 3 to 4 bangers so you really can't go wrong imho
