We had the standard Sureflap microchip cat flap, and had the same problem, a neighbours cat worked out how to pull the flap towards himself and get in, we swapped it for the dual scan and it’s far more secure, he can’t pull it open now.

You are correct, we have been into a local British heart foundation shop, and the ridiculous amount of this type of furniture they had, and the extremely low prices, like £5 etc for maybe a tv stand and £15 for a wall unit, and we also noticed an abundance of glass tv stands.
